Perhaps some day, but as it currently is, I do not think we will see persecution like in the Middle East any time soon. However, persecution for personal beliefs against homosexuality and/or other conservative Christian beliefs will continue to erode.

But at this time, most politicians, especially the President, have to at least pretend to be some sort of Christian. Whether they are in act and reality is a different matter, but the odds of a non Christian being elected President are not close currently.

I always think about what will happen with the type of persecution that's going on in the Middle East will come to the US (if it does). Is anyone else worried to preparing themselves?
Not worried.

Yes, it is already happening, and will grow much in the next coming years, if Jesus tarries returning.

Decades ago, Corrie ten Boom came to many churches in the usa, and warned us about the persecution and the lack of preparation for the people being taught about God -
and few paid attention...
few ever pay attention to God's Warning and Promise of persecution.

What type of preparation do you speak of?

Physical preparation like boxes of MREs and 'pass the ammunition'? Or preparation for how to endure as Christ told us?

Yeah I get a bit nervous with all the terror attacks happening in Europe.. I don't want it to seep into the USA
Ah, interesting take. I thought more as "official" persecution, like from the government, not terrorism. However, I suppose that is a form of persecution too.

People who can't stand up against their own children--pre-marital relationships ("boyfriend/girlfriend"), Sunday morning volleyball, watching all kinds of questionable programs even as young children--shouldn't even be worrying about being able to stand against anything else.

That's like the guy who can't do five pushups worrying about if he can make Olympic trials.

Nope, not worried at all.

That's a good point.

Not the whole Middle East persecutes Christians. There are few Muslim countries in the Middle East where the Christians are actually quite well off!

So it would be very absurd if things in the USA becomes even worse than those Muslim countries!

Anyway, I'm not worried, I don't live in the USA :)

But I happened to have lived and worked in Saudi Arabia and experienced lots of persecution. But God protected me while I'm there and He dealt with my enemies accordingly! :D

The latter. I will never have a gun in my hand, (unless it's a plastic water gun that's pink or some other color). They scare me.

Does anyone think that the hating on Christians will intensify in the next few years? Like people being regularly fired from their jobs because of it (not just some)? Do you see other Christian private schools being forced to close down because they won't adhere to the government's political correctness? I do, and it's sad.

Well, not fired for being a Christian specifically. What could happen is more court cases like the bakery that did not want to serve a gay wedding. But one cannot be fired specifically for being a Christian, or any religion. Our Constitution protects religion. So, if one is a Christian civil servant or something there is no reason to think one could or would be fired for your faith. Likewise in the private sector. So I do not think hate of Christians will specifically intensify, but rather of some Conservative Christian beliefs. Remember, not all Christians are conservative on many values, such as homosexuality, etc. But if one is not making a scene of it then I see no reason to be concerned at this point.

As for private schools, they have evolved down here. There are still some religious schools still, but many have moved to be public charter schools. So they do not focus on a Christian education. The advent of publicly funded charter schools here has made most private schools redundant and obsolete. The only ones that are really doing well are the ones that also offer a very high end education. The ones that were just surviving on a mid-grade education and religion have shrunk or closed. But that is not because of political correctness, but rather mainly the schools not adapting to the changing competitive environment and previously offering a sub-par education.

Back in the early 2nd century, the Roman empire had an edict that all residents were required to sacrifice to the patron Roman gods, particularly certain dead emperors who had been proclaimed gods.

This may or may not have been intended as a direct challenge to located and persecute Christians, but that was the effect.

There is documentation from one Roman governor clearly indicating that for him, it was merely a bureaucratic square to be checked: "Has everyone in my province made their sacrifice to the dead Caesars? Check."

He didn't really care how anyone actually worshipped, as long as they made at least one sacrifice to the dead Caesars and he could report to the emperor that it had been accomplished.

But those danged Christians just would not cooperate. "Just do it once," he asked. They were well-behaved citizens in every other way, but they refuse to make even one sacrifice. That's all the governor asked, make just one sacrifice and we'll all be okay. Well, if they wouldn't cooperate, they'd have to be exterminated.

I have been predicting for over a decade and a half that the issue over not just tolerance but a requirement to celebrate homosexuality will be for today's Christians in America the equivalent of the "sacrifice to the dead Caesars."

Having at least one firearm is probably a good idea. Not to be a gun nut and have an arsenal, but to protect yourself from human and even wild animal invaders. The Lady Smith comes highly recommended for our Ladies.

Smith & Wesson® Model 642LS Lady Smith® Revolvers : Cabela's

This model does come in pink grips if you so desire.

Also, there are a great number of women who run self defense ranges (at least here in Texas) with ladies in mind in the instruction.

Considering Christians in Africa and Asia are losing their heads almost on a daily basis, anything we consider persecution right now pales in comparison our brothers and sisters are enduring.

Edit: I would also recommend for those just starting out with rifles to consider a .22 rifle as a first purchase. It will give you some confidence as there is no recoil (on most models) and learning marksmanship on a .22 rifle is easy. I started my boys on a .22. I highly recommend the Henry models for their simplicity:

Luke 12:4-12 KJV
[4] And I say unto you my friends, Be not afraid of them that kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do. [5] But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear: Fear him, which after he hath killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him. [6] Are not five sparrows sold for two farthings, and not one of them is forgotten before God? [7] But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not therefore: ye are of more value than many sparrows. [8] Also I say unto you, Whosoever shall confess me before men, him shall the Son of man also confess before the angels of God: [9] But he that denieth me before men shall be denied before the angels of God. [10] And whosoever shall speak a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but unto him that blasphemeth against the Holy Ghost it shall not be forgiven. [11] And when they bring you unto the synagogues, and unto magistrates, and powers, take ye no thought how or what thing ye shall answer, or what ye shall say: [12] For the Holy Ghost shall teach you in the same hour what ye ought to say.

I believe we are in the "eye of the storm" right now in terms of world chaos and persecution, but I could be wrong. Trump is really improving every aspect of our country and economy, AND he's a professing Christian, and seems to be making great peace with other world leaders and spreading Christian virtues and improving the Christian community, and exposing many corrupt politicians and removing them from office... but there is obviously great evil in this country so how long will this last? Is this the "injured head" on the beast in Revelation that eventually is healed? I don't know

I don't think we'll ever get persecution to the level of some of the countries (stoning, camps, etc.), but I do think more prejudice will keep arising toward Christians and more laws will be less friendly to our faith, as we've already seen happening in subtle ways.
