I'm up with anxiety about my life and my pregnancy. And I just started wondering how do you consecrate yourself? All i k ow is pray hard, read the Bible, fast( cant while Prego) and don't cuss or sin.

I'm trying to get somewhere else in my walk, to a place where I start seeing God show up in my situations, in my life, changing me and people o know.

Healing people and things. I want all the blessing God talk about in his bible.

At the moment your blessing is to look after yourself and your baby; other blessings will follow.

In the meantime you can fast; it isn't just or even mostly about food; you can fast from television, social media, swearing, eating sugar; just about anything you like. Just make sure that whatever goes into that space is spiritually wholesome, such as praying or reading good books.

As for consecrating yourself, that is easy enough; just do it. If you are not sure, then ask your pastor to help.

A thought just came to me. One way to consecrate ourselves to the Lord each day is to make a point of saying something when we first wake up.

This can be the Lord's prayer, or even something shorter such as 'I will serve the Lord' (Serviam, in Latin).

Get it over first thing and then it is done. :) And if you want to, you can say it again just before you sleep.

Job done.

Consecration is setting yourself aside for God and being separated from the things of the world. It's not as much as being separated from the world itself (the Lord Jesus was eating and drinking with worldly people) as it is being separated in your spirit. Joshua 3:5 is a good example. Sometimes it may involve fasting, abstinence and so on. But at all times it's a determination in your heart and spirit to be sold out to God and only Him. Hope that helps. I shall pray for you Angeleyes7715 :).

If you become consecrated , this will not affect whether you will see God show up in your situations, nor "healing" and things.....
That is entirely God's Choice whether anything like that happens or changes.

Consecration is required for God's people though, as noted:
What does the Bible say about consecration?

short excerpt from that page:
"
The Bible tells believers to be a holy people, separate from the world: “Therefore come out from them and be separate, says the Lord. Touch no unclean thing, and I will receive you” (2 Corinthians 6:17). Being consecrated is a critical component in our relationship to God and to those in the world. Paul tells us, “Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God—this is your spiritual act of worship. Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will” (Romans 12:1-2).

In other words, as true believers in Christ, the act of consecration involves our lives being a living sacrifice to Him; we are totally separated from the defilement of the world. Each day, we are to live out our lives as a “holy” and “royal” priesthood to the glory of God, for we are now God’s people (1 Peter 2:9-10).

Have you thought about going on retreat, even for a day or two?

But there is no guarantee as to what you will get out of it. In consecrating ourselves, we make ourselves available to God. What God chooses to do with our availability, is up to God.

Sounds like you want "you" to be better. That's not something that Christianity offers; at least not in that manner. Christianity offers abundant life, that is true; however, the way to to that life is through death. Death to self.

Being united wth Christ, or as Paul often puts it, being "in Christ" is the only life there is. Christianity is not about making bad people good or good people better. It's about making dead people alive in Christ.

"I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing." (John 15:5)

I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. (Galatians 2:20)

I searched online about consecration. Here is what I found.

Question: "What does the Bible say about consecration?"

Answer:
In the Bible the word consecration means “the separation of oneself from things that are unclean, especially anything that would contaminate one’s relationship with a perfect God.” Consecration also carries the connotation of sanctification, holiness, or purity.

The importance of being consecrated or pure in our relationship with God is emphasized in an incident in the book of Joshua. After forty years in the wilderness, the children of Israel were about to cross over the Jordan River into the Promised Land. They were then given a command and a promise: “Joshua told the people, ‘Consecrate yourselves, for tomorrow the LORD will do amazing things among you’” (Joshua 3:5).

The people of God were commanded to bathe and change their clothes; the married couples were to devote themselves wholly to the Lord (1 Corinthians 7:1-6). The significance of this command was that in ancient times water was considered a luxury and wasn’t used often for personal hygiene. The bathing and changing clothes symbolized making a new beginning with the Lord. The picture here is that sin is defilement (Psalm 51:2, 7), and we have to be cleansed before we can truly follow God.

Upon consecrating themselves, the children of Israel were assured of God's promises. The Lord promised that He would do amazing things among them (Joshua 3:5). Just as He opened the Red Sea to deliver them from their Egyptian bondage, He would open the Jordan River and take them into the Promised Land. In fact, this was just the beginning of the miracles God would perform for them in the conquest of the Promised Land. It’s no wonder the psalmist declares, “Your ways, O God, are holy. What god is so great as our God? You are the God who performs miracles; you display your power among the peoples” (Psalm 77:13-14).

Another good example of consecrating oneself is that of David upon confessing his sin of adultery. He bathed and changed clothes before he worshiped the Lord (2 Samuel 12:20). This same imagery is also used in the New Testament (Colossians 3:5-14; Ephesians 4:26-27).

Each day, we are to live out our lives as a “holy” and “royal” priesthood to the glory of God, for we are now God’s people (1 Peter 2:9-10).

Know that they bathed before coming before Yahweh. (not knocking bathing). But now we have "That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word," Eph 5:26

It's about being submitted to Yahweh. Glad you're reading Scripture. It's sure important to know Scripture even more vital that we do what it states. That's being obedient (I Sam 15:22) and having "the fear of The Lord" (Psa 111:10 and Prov 1:7) Sometimes we may not want to do what it says but we can't cherry pick which ones we'll follow.

Also, you mentioned being anxious. We need to guard our hearts and not get into pride or be offended (I John 2:16). We (women) have a tendency to keep a mental record of rights and wrongs - according to us. We remember what he/they were wearing, where we were, etc. all the details. But Eph 4:26 says "Don't let the sun go down on your wrath."

It means to repent for what I need to; forgive Yahweh, myself, and others (Matt 22); and follow what The Word says.

You said you were pregnant so take care. This is an important time in your life. Children are gifts from Yahweh according to "Lo, children are an heritage of the Lord: and the fruit of the womb is his reward." Psa 127:3 That can hard to remember when we're taking care of infants. But that doesn't discount the Scripture. We all have so much to be thankful to Yahweh.
