This is kinda important, especially for new converts. This video lays out what salvation is and isn't thoroughly that it is not by our works but by faith in the blood atonement of Christ alone. The gift freely given. It is not by anything we do, other than believing by faith in the grace of the Lord.

It is looking scientific. Is the Theology the Science? Then, if it is science, the God is proven?

Our salvation is from sin (Matthew 1:21), and sin is defined as the transgression of God's Law (1 John 3:4), so we are being saved from living in disobedience to God's Law, which certainly involves making a change in what we do. If we have faith in God to guide us in how to rightly live, then we will obey His Law, so we have been saved by grace through faith and by the same grace through the same faith we are required to live in obedience to God's Law (Romans 1:5). These verses describe our salvation by grace through faith:

Titus 2:11-14 For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation for all people, 12 training us to renounce ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in the present age, 13 waiting for our blessed hope, the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, 14 who gave himself for us to redeem us from all lawlessness and to purify for himself a people for his own possession who are zealous for good works.

Psalms 119:29 Put false ways far from me and graciously teach me your law!

So God is gracious to us through teaching us by faith how to rightly live. The free gift is like someone giving you a free gift of paying for college tuition for the rest of your life, so what we do does not earn this gift, but this gift teaches us about what to do.

Paul's grace doctrine in Ephesians 2 is well stated, and tells us beautifully the whole --

8 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—
9 not by works, so that no one can boast.
10 For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

We need the full doctrine, as above, because we need to be aware that when the Spirit pulls us to do what God wants us to do, we should do as the Spirit leads, and not think a wrong idea like "no, I don't need to do anything ever".

This is kinda important, especially for new converts. This video lays out what salvation is and isn't thoroughly that it is not by our works but by faith in the blood atonement of Christ alone. The gift freely given. It is not by anything we do, other than believing by faith in the grace of the Lord.

I watched about 59 minutes of this and then I was totally convinced that this guy on the video is preaching a different gospel Galatians 1:6-12. Really I got the hint around 11-12 minutes but I continued watching to see what more he would say that was incorrect. They guy totally skipped important verses that would falter his false doctrine.

There was lots of incorrect things he went on about, but to spare anyone for TOO long of a post, I will focus strictly to salvation.

Belief is Faith; Faith is Belief.

Belief/Faith is a verb, an action word. It is a continuous thing. Doesn't happen just once and your good, but its continuous.

Let me start with a tiny little scenario. While you read the scenario, focus your thoughts on John 3:16 and Ephesians 2:8-9.

{Your friend calls you and says "I have a free gift for you and all you have to do is drive over and pick it up".

Did you earn that gift? --No

Is the gift just going to spontaneously show up on you lap if you ask your friend to do so? -- No, your friend wish you pick it up at his house.

Do you have to get up and drive over and pick it up? --Yes, you are asked to drive over and pick it up.}

That unmerited grace IS a free gift, I don't argue that as I see it in scripture. However, it is conditional in the fact that you have to "go over and pick it up". John 3:16 tells us a condition:

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth (continuous/ trust and obey) in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."

Another scenario:

{Think of your job: Does believing you need to drive to work get you to work?

You have to "drive" (action) to get there. Belief is an action. You obey with your belief, the gospel. The gospel tells us things we need to do for salvation. Its all action words. Believing itself, we are told, is a work John 6:29.

One verse people ALWAYS seem to over look in Ephesians 2 is verse 10.

"For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them."

It is in perfect harmony with James 2:14-26. Faith alone is dead. You must trust and obey, which requires the conditional I was talking about earlier.

In the entire book of Acts, people are not saved until they are baptized. Acts is called the book of conversions. In ALL cases, they are baptized. How people get around this just perplexes me.

I like how the guy in the video just totally dodged the fact the Ethiopian was baptized and saved then. He just totally skipped it. Why? He doesn't believe in it. Which means he doesn't believe in scripture. Only what he desires to believe Galatians 1:6-12.

The guy on the video doesn't wish to see verses like this:

Acts 2:38 = Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Just look at that verse! "be baptized". In what? "the name of Jesus Christ". Why?! "for the remission of sins". What do you get for doing that? "the gift of the Holy Spirit".

Mark 16:16 = He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.

If you are a believer, action of faith dictates you be baptized AND you will be saved.
If your not a believer, obviously there is no need to mention the baptism part in the last part of the sentence.

Lets go to Acts 8. Lets look at the part this guy skipped what seemed like intentionally, along with what he did mention.

34 And the eunuch answered Philip, and said, I pray thee, of whom speaketh the prophet this? of himself, or of some other man?

35 Then Philip opened his mouth, and began at the same scripture, and preached unto him Jesus.

36 And as they went on their way, they came unto a certain water: and the eunuch said, See, here is water; what doth hinder me to be baptized?

{pause} = Philip must have taught baptism otherwise the Ethiopian would not have asked about it....

37 And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.

38 And he commanded the chariot to stand still: and they went down both into the water, both Philip and the eunuch; and he baptized him.

39 And when they were come up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord caught away Philip, that the eunuch saw him no more: and he went on his way rejoicing.

Philip completed the task he was sent to do by God by baptizing the Ethiopian. See how the Lord "caught" Philip up after the eunuch was baptized?

Pretty damaging material to this guy on the video. Thats why he didn't want to bring you to those verses.

He said Paul didn't baptize and totally twisted the meaning of 1 Corinthians 1:17.

(1 Corinthians 1:17). Some teach (like this guy on the video) from this verse that Paul was not sent to baptize. That is obviously correct, for that is what the verse says. However, they imply it in a manner that attempts to prove baptism false.

Paul was sent to preach the gospel. From this many will continue by suggesting that baptism is not, therefore, a part of the gospel, and since it is not a part of the gospel, it is not essential to salvation (Romans 1:16). Whatever Paul meant by these words, he could not contradict other passages in the Bible. If he does, his claims of being inspired by God are false. But why did Paul say this?

If Paul was not sent to baptize, did he sin in baptizing Crispus, Gaius and the household of Stephanas (1 Corinthians 1:14, 16)? If Paul had been sent to baptize, would this mean baptism is essential to salvation? John the Baptist was sent to baptize (John 1:33). Was his baptism necessary for salvation? Those under the "Great Commission" were sent to baptize (Matthew 28:18-20). Is the baptism of the "Great Commission" essential to salvation? Did Paul labor under this "Great Commission"?

It does not say that baptism is not part of the gospel. Wherever Paul went, he taught people to be baptized (Acts 16:13-15, 31-34, 18:8, 19:1-6). In telling them to be baptized, was he preaching the gospel of Christ or another gospel? Of course Paul was teaching the gospel when he taught people to be baptized (Galatians 1:6-9).

Jesus said that as a result of the gospel being preached men would know to believe and be baptized (Mark 16:15-16). This shows that baptism is part of the gospel.

It does not say that Paul was thankful there were only a few baptized in Corinth. If he was thankful that only a few were baptized, would he not have been more grateful had none been baptized? If that was the case, then why teach people to be baptized if he was thankful when they weren't? Believers in Corinth had been baptized, and though Paul had only a minor role in the actual baptism, he had taught them to be baptized (1 Corinthians 1:14, Acts 18:8).

What Paul actually said was that he was glad he had baptized only a few personally and gives the reason before verse 17. See 1 Corinthians 1:12-16 then you can understand verse 17.

The guy on the video totally skipped Romans 6. Totally didn't see or "understand" as he likes to put it, Acts 22:16. Must not have seen Acts 2:38,41,47. Skipped Acts 8:38. Ignored Acts 16:33-34. Was blind to see Acts 10. I could go on and on.

This man CLEARLY "misunderstands" salvation. In fact, he tries to lead people away with false teaching.

He even tries to take away confession later in his video after bashing baptism, Romans 10:9.

Look, John 14:15; John 15:14, if you are going to obey the gospel this is what needs to be done. Here is the plan of salvation. This is what the bible teaches we must do for salvation.

Tons of verses in the gospel but these will get the point across:

Hear the Gospel. (Romans 10:17, John 8:32)

Believe the Gospel (Hebrews 11:6, John 20:31)

Repent of past sins (Luke 13:3, Acts 17:30)

Confess faith in Jesus Christ (Romans 10:10, Matthew 10:32)

Be Baptized (Galatians 3:27, Mark 16:16, Acts 2:38)

Be faithful unto death (Revelation 2:10)

Its in the bible, this is what it talks about, why is it so rejected?

^ It's rejected because that's a false gospel that sends people to hell.

Jesus says over and over again that you must believe on Him to have eternal life. You HAVE it the second you believe on Christ. If you could "lose" it by backsliding then eternal life was never eternal. Salvation is by faith alone, it's asked one time in the Bible what must I do to be saved and the answer is believe ON the Lord Jesus.

When you believe ON Jesus you're trusting only in Him to get you to Heaven. Faith and works do not get you to Heaven. James 2 teaches justification before man rather than God which is described in Romans 4. Also Abraham was not saved when he offered up Isaac, he was saved decades earlier. By faith.

Faith and works do not mix when it comes to slavation.

Romans 11:6 King James Version (KJV)
6 And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then it is no more grace: otherwise work is no more work.

Here's the thing - we should all do good works, but that doesn't get you to heaven. Faith does. If you choose to rebel against God He will punish you on THIS planet.

It is devoid of context to say that all you need to do is believe in Jesus without unpacking what we need to believe about him. For instance, it is impossible for someone to believe that Jesus is Lord while refusing to submit to him as Lord. It is impossible for someone to believe that Jesus gave himself to redeem them from all Lawlessness while continuing to practice Lawlessness. The example of what it means to believe is Abraham offering his son Isaac, where Abraham believed God's promise that through Isaac his offspring would reckoned above everything else in this world so much so that he reason that if he killed Isaac that God would raise him from the dead (Hebrews 11:19). That is what it means to believe. So to believe is not just affirming something is true, but is taking action based upon the absolute certainty of that belief. It's not just about trusting Jesus to get you into heaven, but also also trusting Jesus to get heaven into you. Every example of saving faith in Hebrews 11 is also an example of someone living in obedience to God's instructions. According to Psalms 119:29, God is gracious to us by teaching us to obey His Law and according to Titus 2:11-14, our salvation involves being trained by grace to do what is godly, righteous, and good, and to renounce doing what is ungodly and sinful, which is essentially what God's Law was given to instruct us how to do (Romans 7:12, Romans 7:7).

So you do not believe this scripture, that is in the bible?

Mark 16:16 = He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.

You have not refuted any scripture I have given proving baptism. All you did is say "Oh no its false take my word for it" and then you pointed me to other verses that you THINK proves your point but it doesn't.

You just cherry pick verses you wish to believe and blot out ones you don't want to do. How is that faith friend? How are you believing in the gospel by taking one verse and throwing another out?

Acts 3:19 says to just repent and your sins will be blotted out. UH OH, does that mean ALL I need to do is repent and I am saved? I don't need belief, I dont need to confess, I don't need to be baptized?

Don't be so silly in this matter. If its in the bible, then you are to do it right (reference to salvation)? I clearly showed scripture from the bible and there is NO mistaking it.

Jesus says over and over again that you must believe on Him to have eternal life.

Do you know something else Jesus said? Let me let you in on a secret....

Matthew 28:18-20

Oh well, I guess its not really a secret but something you must have missed.

You HAVE it the second you believe on Christ.

Nope. You have the Holy Spirit the moment you are finally baptized.

Something you must have missed as well....

Acts 2:38 = Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

OOOHHHHH, so you get the Holy Spirit when you are baptized for the remission of sins. Just look at the ENTIRE book of Acts. I mean there are so many baptisms it will make your head spin.

Look, I've shown these verses already. Why are you not going to "believe" in the gospel that says them?

If you could "lose" it by backsliding then eternal life was never eternal.

Clearly you didn't read Hebrews 6:4-6 which I provided. Really read it my friend. Once saved always saved is a false man made doctrine.

You also missed, in 2 Timothy 4:10, Demas who WAS saved, forsaken...loving the world. He fell from grace.

Also, 2 Timothy 4:3-4 implies people who KNEW the truth before and then turned away.

Its scary but yes you can fall away. Its not because of God though, its because peoples own selfish desires and pride, you name it. It causes blindness. Just like you are being blind to verses that I put down you clearly cant accept for some reason or another. I don't know why you refuse scripture.

Salvation is by faith alone, it's asked one time in the Bible what must I do to be saved and the answer is believe ON the Lord Jesus.

Wrong. Mark 16:16; Matthew 28:18-20; Acts 2:38; Ethiopian Acts 8; Philippian Jailer Acts 16; Paul Acts 22:16

ITS IN SCRIPTURE. How are you missing this? I am so perplexed right now.

When you believe ON Jesus you're trusting only in Him to get you to Heaven.

What would you say if I told you believing is a work? John 6:29.

I guess according to you, that you shouldn't believe anymore too since its a work.

Belief, which is faith, is a verb. It is an action word. It is a CONTINUOUS action. Not a one time deal and your saved.

Faith and works do not get you to Heaven.

WHAT?! Did you just miss James 2:14-26? Are you even reading these passages in the bible or just going off what someone told you?

James 2 teaches justification before man rather than God which is described in Romans 4.

James is pretty clear about what said. I am not an English teacher and therefore cannot help peoples reading comprehension problems.

Did you miss Romans 6?

Also Abraham was not saved when he offered up Isaac, he was saved decades earlier. By faith.

God was showing Abraham that he had faith. A test for lack of a better word off the top of my head. You totally missed the whole point of this. Maybe Hebrews 11 can help you in this matter.

Notice how each person explained in Hebrews 11 DID something. Faith is belief. Belief is faith. It is an action word. A verb. It is something that is continuous, not one time. You have to DO something.

Faith and works do not mix when it comes to slavation.

Do you preach gospel to people?

I'm sure you do as you are attempting to me. That is a work that was commanded in the bible.

Do you believe in Jesus?

I'm sure you do since you imply it here in your post. That is a work as I have shown you.

Its a work that is part of salvation. You just mixed them. Don't be blind to the verses I am showing you.

Here's the thing - we should all do good works, but that doesn't get you to heaven. Faith does.

What is faith? It is a continuous belief, a verb, an action, John 6:29.

Now at least admit this John 14:15 and John 15:14.

So Jesus said that in John 14 and 15 right?

Jesus also said this in Matthew 28:18-20 right?

The Holy Spirit came upon Peter and the others in Acts 2:1-5 right?

Peter, with the Holy Spirit in him, did say this in Acts 2:38 right?

Your case is lost. The only way one reject this now is blindness and shear denial of the truth.

If you choose to rebel against God He will punish you on THIS planet.

We both agree here so I do not think I need to put a verse down in this quote.

My conclusion is this:

You seem earnest in your will to follow Jesus, but severely lacking in your study of the gospel. This is dangerous.

I would suggest to you, if you go to church even, that you fact check your minister and not just be a pew warmer. Study that bible friend and you will be a lot better off.

If you studied, you would clearly see that scripture is chalk full of baptism for part of salvation.

Its all in the bible read it apply it:

Hear the word – Romans 10:17, Matthew 7:24-27

Believe the word is true and believe in Jesus – Hebrews 11:6, Mark 16:15-16(not faith only), James 2:24, John 12:42

Repent of your sins and transgressions – Acts 2:38, Acts 17:30-31, Luke 13:3

Confess Jesus is Lord and Lord of your life – Matthew 10:32-33, Acts 8:36-37

Baptism for the repentance, forgiveness of your sins -
Remain faithful until death – Revelation 2:10

Examples of baptism and conversions:

Jesus’ Baptism – Matthew 3:13-17

Day of Pentecost – Acts 2:22 and 36-47

Samaria – Acts 8:4-13

Ethiopian eunuch – Acts 8:26-39

Paul (Saul) – Acts 9:1-20 and 22:6-16

Cornelius – Acts 10:1-48 and 11:1-18

Lydia – Acts 16:13-15

Philippian jailor – Acts 16:23-34

Many Corinthians – Acts 18:8

So you do not believe this scripture, that is in the bible?

Mark 16:16 = He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.

If baptism was part of the gospel then it would say "but he that believeth not and is NOT BAPTIZED shall be damned."

It doesn't say that.

You have not refuted any scripture I have given proving baptism. All you did is say "Oh no its false take my word for it" and then you pointed me to other verses that you THINK proves your point but it doesn't.

That's actually not what I said.

Acts 3:19 says to just repent and your sins will be blotted out. UH OH, does that mean ALL I need to do is repent and I am saved? I don't need belief, I dont need to confess, I don't need to be baptized?

You're totally wrong here as well and have zero basic understanding of the scriptures.

Repent and be baptized FOR the remission of sins in Acts 2:38 means *BECAUSE OF*. Example: “I’m going to prison for murder.” You don’t go to prison to do the murdering, you go the prison because of murder.

The word "for" means BECAUSE OF also in Matthew 3:11

Do you know something else Jesus said? Let me let you in on a secret....

Matthew 28:18-20

Oh well, I guess its not really a secret but something you must have missed.

What are you even trying to say here? "something you must have missed." Why is that necessary? Try and calm down with the prideful arrogance and have a civil discussion.

The scripture you posted is a COMMAND. Do you understand the difference between COMMANDS in the Bible and SALVATION passages? You DO God's work AFTER you are saved. It's not that hard.

OOOHHHHH, so you get the Holy Spirit when you are baptized for the remission of sins. Just look at the ENTIRE book of Acts. I mean there are so many baptisms it will make your head spin.

Again, baptism is a COMMAND. It's not part of the gospel.

Acts 10:44-48King James Version (KJV)
44 While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word.

45 And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost.

46 For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God. Then answered Peter,

47 Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we?

48 And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. Then prayed they him to tarry certain days.

In this passage the holy spirit falls on them which heard the word THEN they are baptized.

Clearly you didn't read Hebrews 6:4-6 which I provided. Really read it my friend. Once saved always saved is a false man made doctrine.

You also missed, in 2 Timothy 4:10, Demas who WAS saved, forsaken...loving the world. He fell from grace.

1. You have no idea what Hebrews 6:4-6 is actually saying. Let me help you:

Hebrews 6:4-6 King James Version (KJV)
4 For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost,

5 And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come,

6 If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.

This has nothing to do with losing salvation. If this were about salvation it would say "For it is impossible for those who were once saved." But it doesn't. It says "enlightened." The practical application of this passage is when you're giving the gospel to someone who is about to be saved and about to believe it. The Holy Ghost is working on their heart, they're so close to accepting Christ and they've tasted the truth.

But it was only a small taste. They reject it at the last second.

The Bible says it's impossible for those kinds of people to be saved.

Also, it never once says Demas lost his salvation. You're putting words into the Bible to fit your false doctrine.

That's not at all what it says in 2 Timothy 4:3-4. You're just making that up. This is just about how people will believe false doctrine one day, like what you're doing right now.

What would you say if I told you believing is a work? John 6:29.

I guess according to you, that you shouldn't believe anymore too since its a work.

Belief, which is faith, is a verb. It is an action word. It is a CONTINUOUS action. Not a one time deal and your saved.

LOL, John 6:29 is talking about GOD's work, not YOUR work. Your interpretation is absolutely ridiculous.

It's not a one time deal and you're saved? Really? Let's see what the BIBLE says:

15 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.

16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

John 6:47 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life.

In every single one of those verses, BELIEVING is followed by HAVING everlasting life. So according to you, God is a liar. You're telling me that you can "lose" your "everlasting" life - so that means "everlasting" was not actually "everlasting," it was temporary. The Bible is CRYSTAL CLEAR that the SECOND you believe on Jesus you HAVE eternal life. You HAVE IT, present tense.

WHAT?! Did you just miss James 2:14-26? Are you even reading these passages in the bible or just going off what someone told you?

James is pretty clear about what said. I am not an English teacher and therefore cannot help peoples reading comprehension problems.

I don't have "reading comprehension problems" hypocrite. Why don't you actually read your Bible.

The Bible does NOT say that Abraham was SAVED when he offered up Isaac. It says he was justified BEFORE MAN:

Romans 4:1-2
What shall we say then that Abraham our father, as pertaining to the flesh, hath found?

2 For if Abraham were justified by works, he hath whereof to glory; but not before God.

Abraham was saved decades and decades and decades before he offered up Isaac:

Genesis 12:8 And he removed from thence unto a mountain on the east of Bethel, and pitched his tent, having Bethel on the west, and Hai on the east: and there he builded an altar unto the Lord, and called upon the name of the Lord.

James 2 is saying that in order to justify yourself before man, in order for people to SEE your faith you must DO the work. It does NOT teach that you must do the work to be saved.

You ought to believe the gospel and stop relying on yourself for salvation. Put aside your pride and believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, trust only in HIM.

If baptism was part of the gospel then it would say "but he that believeth not and is NOT BAPTIZED shall be damned."

It doesn't say that.

So the second part of the sentence cancels out the first part?

The scripture didn't need to put it in the second half because obviously someone who doesn't believe is not going to be baptized.

If someone believes then they will be baptized.

Repent and be baptized FOR the remission of sins in Acts 2:38 means *BECAUSE OF*. Example: “I’m going to prison for murder.” You don’t go to prison to do the murdering, you go the prison because of murder.

The Greek word in Acts 2:38 for the word "for" is "eis" Strongs G1519 which is defined as this = into, unto, to, towards, for, among

Strongs definition further says "εἰς eis, ice; a primary preposition; to or into (indicating the point reached or entered)"

How do you get "because of" is beyond me. Please explain.

The scripture you posted is a COMMAND. Do you understand the difference between COMMANDS in the Bible and SALVATION passages?

If its a command, then it is necessary. If it is in the bible it is a command. If it says/commands to "believe AND be baptized"/ "repent, be baptized, in Jesus' name, for remission of sins (not because of as previously stated), AND you will receive the Holy Spirit, then it part of salvation. A command for salvation.

Again, baptism is a COMMAND. It's not part of the gospel.

Do you see what you are writing here? The first Christians were taught this and faithfully obeyed (Acts 2:38, 41; 8:12, 36-39; 9:18; 10:47; 16:15, 33; 18:8; 22:16). It IS a command just like you said I totally agree.

However, when you said its not in the gospel, I am shocked to the core since I shown you and referred to you MANY verses.

You are not understanding whats happening in Acts 10. Let me help please.

Matthew 16:18-19 Jesus promises Peter would use the keys to open up His church/kingdom.

Acts 2:1-5 the disciples receive miraculous gifts when the Holy Spirit descended upon them

Acts 2:6-47 Peter opens up the kingdom first to the Jews

Acts 10:44-46 To show the Jews that the kingdom is not JUST theirs alone (reference Acts 11), the Holy Spirit descends upon the Gentiles giving them miraculous gift of tongues but by no means are they saved yet.

Acts 10:47-48 The keys are used and completed by Peter to open the kingdom up for the Gentiles. Now the house and friends of Cornelius are saved.

The points on Acts 2 and Acts 10 are the only two times the Holy Spirit happens this way, and both times it refers to gifts of tongues. Not salvation. Notice they STILL were baptized to be saved.

If baptism was not necessary, why is there such emphasis on it?

Can a person be saved by ignoring what God commanded to be done?

What does this say, Colossians 2:11-13?

What does this say, Galatians 3:26-27?

Just so you understand, I am not saying baptism is the ONLY thing need be done, but it is part. Its in the bible. It is a command. If you love Jesus your Lord and Savior, you will obey that command, John 14:15; John 15:14.

In Paul's wording --

"8 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—
9 not by works, so that no one can boast.
10 For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do."

Christ said --

"If you love me, you will obey my commandments."

And faith without works will collapse --

"24 “Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. 25 The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. 26 But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. 27 The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash.”

So, we can see that James got it right -- "Faith without works is dead."

Without faith, we are not saved. Without works, faith will collapse in the storms of life.

Nice. I forgot about those verses. Very nice addition to this conversation.

If you noticed too, they stop right at verse 9 in Ephesians 2. Why? Because of verse 10.

"For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do."

They can't use verse 10 because that alone debunks "faith only".

If someone believes then they will be baptized.

Negative Inference Fallacy. This is the rule to follow: “If a statement is true, we cannot assume that all negations (or opposites) of that statement are also true." For example, the statement “a dog with brown spots is an animal” is true; however, the negative, “if a dog does not have brown spots, it is not an animal” is false. In the same way, “he who believes and is baptized will be saved” is true; however, the statement “he who believes but is not baptized will not be saved” is an unwarranted assumption.

Jesus mentions a condition related to salvation (baptism) in Mark 16:16. But a related condition should not be confused with a requirement. For example, having a fever is related to being ill, but a fever is not required for illness to be present. Nowhere in the Bible do we find a statement such as “whoever is not baptized will be condemned.” Therefore, we cannot say that baptism is necessary for salvation based on Mark 16:16 or any other verse.

The Greek word in Acts 2:38 for the word "for" is "eis" Strongs G1519 which is defined as this = into, unto, to, towards, for, among

Can I get a chapter and verse on that?

Acts 10:47-48 The keys are used and completed by Peter to open the kingdom up for the Gentiles. Now the house and friends of Cornelius are saved.

Here's what the Bible says:

Acts 10:47-48

47 Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we?

48 And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. Then prayed they him to tarry certain days.

They've already received the holy ghost. It literally says it right there. Which Bible are you reading?

Ephesians 1:12-13 King James Version (KJV)
12 That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ.

13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,

No baptism. I wonder why?

Can a person be saved by ignoring what God commanded to be done?

No, of course not. God commanded you to BELIEVE to be saved.

John 6:40 King James Version (KJV)
40 And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.

What does this say, Colossians 2:11-13?

Baptism is a wonderful thing, but it's not necessary for salvation. It's a commandment from God.

Do not lie is also a commandment from God, and all liars go to hell according to Revelation 21:8. Have you told a lie before? The answer is yes. Therefore, are you going to hell? Not if you have FAITH in Jesus and are justified by FAITH. (Acts 16:31, John 3:16, John 6:47, Romans 10:9, 2 Corinthians 5:21, Genesis 15:6, Romans 4:3, Galatians 3:6, Romans 4:5, Romans 3:22, Romans 9:30, Philippians 3:9, Romans 10:4, Romans 4:13, Romans 3:28, Romans 5:1, Galatians 2:16, Romans 3:30)

What does this say, Galatians 3:26-27?

Galatians 3:26-27 King James Version (KJV)
26 For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.

27 For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.

It says salvation is by faith, just like it does in the rest of the Bible. You're conflating salvation passages with commandments.

No, of course not. God commanded you to BELIEVE to be saved.

Actually, I wonder if we mostly or even entirely agree!

As you know, we are saved by grace through faith, as clearly worded in Paul's epistles several times.

We are *only* saved by grace alone, and that *only through faith*.

No faith = no salvation through Christ.

See, we agree, right?

And.

Christ, Paul, Peter, John, and James, all, each then continue and tell us additional key things we must have to endure, survive, and must absorb, as you know, of course. And it turns out one big thing further is utterly indispensable (though of course you could say that each and all things in the gospels and epistles are, and that's true also).

Paul is usually the most roundabout, taking chapters often to complete his full statement about salvation with every part -- Paul had to write lengthy explanations Jews who had been until that time always under the Old Covenant most needed to hear explained in a very full way.

But in one epistle, he gets a quick summary all in just 3 verses.

We are only saved by grace through faith Paul writes, and... --

8 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— 9 not by works, so that no one can boast. 10 For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

You just don't see what I am trying to show you. Belief is an ACTION word, a verb. You have to PHYSICALLY ACT on your belief.

You don't say "I believe I will get off the couch and get to work this morning" and continue sitting there DO YOU? No, you get up, you grab your keys, you start your car, and you drive to work. ACTION. The same is with salvation.

It is a free gift, that you ACT on.

Do you understand CONJUNCTION words "He who believes AND is baptized". If you don't believe OBVIOUSLY you are not going to be baptized.

I already explained this. Either learn English or go back to my other post.

Actually my reading comprehension in college was 96% and English was 92%. So I think I am pretty good at it.

Also, no you didn't give ANY examples other than your opinion. I gave you facts from scholars and studied men other than myself. You did not.

Here is your quote of your opinion with no evidence to back it up....

This was my reply to that with people that have PHD's who studied the Greek language....

So when I say "please explain", I ask you for evidence other than your opinion.

Opinion = a view or judgment formed about something, not necessarily based on fact or knowledge.

Put some evidence up about this part please like I have.

Can I get a chapter and verse on that?

Matthew 16:18-19, Did Jesus just promise that Peter will have the "keys" to build Christs church/kingdom?

Acts 1:4-5, who is Jesus talking to? Is Peter considered part of that group Jesus is talking to?

Acts 2:1-13, Did these men receive miraculous gifts? Compare this to Acts 10:44-46, did those men receive miraculous gifts? In Acts 10, if they were saved in verses 44-46, why is it even necessary to baptize at all verses 47-48?

Who is the person talking/preaching in Acts 2 and Acts 10?

Now with Matthew 16:18-19 in mind, compare Acts 2 and Acts 10. Did Peter open up, the with the "keys", Christs church/kingdom? First to the Jews then to the Gentiles?

They've already received the holy ghost. It literally says it right there. Which Bible are you reading?

Yes, and all they profited from it was MIRACULOUS GIFTS not salvation until verse 47-48. It shown the Jews that this spiritual kingdom was NOT just for the Jews, see Acts 11 as reference.

Chapter and verse on that, please?

I did give it to you. Its right in there. Either look at the above reply for this post or look at my previous post and actually read the verses. Open up the bible and read.

Here's what the Bible says:

Ephesians 1:12-13 King James Version (KJV)
12 That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ.

13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,

No baptism. I wonder why?

Like I said at the start of this post, you are having a very hard time understanding what a verb is. A hard time understanding what an action word is. You are just not seeing it. Look at my explanation again above and that is my answer.

So, they trusted in Christ, they heard the word (bible, but in their case the preaching of disciples and such until written scripture) of truth, the gospel of their salvation (the bible contains the manual in which how we are saved), and when they obeyed what that word had to say in salvation, they were saved (sealed). This falls right in line with Acts 2:38. A verse that you continually ignore among others. You need to be baptized FOR the forgiveness of sins, see Romans 6, another area you wish to not heed.

Now that you mention Ephesians, and its funny that you do, look here Ephesians 4:4-6. What is part of all those "one's"? One baptism? Baptism is mentioned so frequently, its amazing you wish to separate it out of scripture.

No, of course not. God commanded you to BELIEVE to be saved.

Your hard time understanding a verb, action word has lead you to just contradict yourself here when I asked "Can a person be saved by ignoring what God commanded to be done?"

You just contradicted your whole argument right here. Bam, case close, you just conceded and you don't even know it. Everyone here sees what you said right here. Just obey the gospel and what it commands and your saved. If you don't, your not saved.

So, if you believe (action word, verb), you will obey right? The bible commands us to be baptized as part of our salvation among many other things?

John 14:15 and John 15:14. If you love Jesus you will obey Him and be baptized, Acts 2:38, Acts 22:16, Acts 8:37-39.

Oh, by the way, now that I am thinking of Acts 8, Was the Ethiopian saved before or after baptism? The Holy Spirit didn't fall on him before baptism.

Baptism is a wonderful thing, but it's not necessary for salvation. It's a commandment from God.

Another contradictory statement. Your either plain blind or in denial now.

Have you told a lie before? The answer is yes. Therefore, are you going to hell? Not if you have FAITH in Jesus and are justified by FAITH.

Yes I've read 1 John 1. However, in 1 John 1, I have to make confession of my sin before God, through Jesus. Confession, my friend, is an action. Boy you just can't escape those action words can you.

It says salvation is by faith, just like it does in the rest of the Bible. You're conflating salvation passages with commandments.

Faith is the same word as belief. Faith is belief. Belief and faith are action words here. So if you have faith, you obviously trust in God. If you trust in God and His promises you will OBEY His commands. If you obey his commands (John 14:15; John 15:14).

Salvation IS a command in order to be saved. Are you thinking before typing and posting?

The whole bible is in harmony with itself. The bible IS a conflating written word. So yes, I am combining all the verses in the bible. That is your problem right there. You believe only half of the bible.

It's like you entered a boxing match and got punch drunk. You are so confused now everyone is seeing this. You are contradicting yourself consistently now. Stop being in denial, stop rejecting the bible and what it tells you to obey, remove the blinders.

There was this prostitute who heard the gospel from a street preacher and with great gladness accepted Jesus in hear heart as her lord and savior.

She was so glad that she immediately ran to a church and found the rector to tell him she was now saved.

He looked down his nose critically at her and said, "Young woman, what do you know about the soteriology of salvation? Are you saved, or in the process of being saved, or merely have the hope of being saved?"

The young woman looked back at him for a moment, blinked, and said, "Well, sir, I know I'm saved, but if you're not sure about yourself, we can pray together for it."

So right! lol. My young 'Catholic' friend says we are being saved, which works for me, and I'm content to nod my head on that one.

This was my reply to that with people that have PHD's who studied the Greek language....

So when I say "please explain", I ask you for evidence other than your opinion.

Opinion = a view or judgment formed about something, not necessarily based on fact or knowledge.

Put some evidence up about this part please like I have.

Yes, and all they profited from it was MIRACULOUS GIFTS not salvation until verse 47-48. It shown the Jews that this spiritual kingdom was NOT just for the Jews, see Acts 11 as reference.

I did give it to you. Its right in there. Either look at the above reply for this post or look at my previous post and actually read the verses. Open up the bible and read.

Another contradictory statement. Your either plain blind or in denial now.

Yes I've read 1 John 1. However, in 1 John 1, I have to make confession of my sin before God, through Jesus. Confession, my friend, is an action. Boy you just can't escape those action words can you.

Faith is not an "action verb." It means TRUST. Read your Bible.
