Without having read the rest of this thread, I very much agree Paul. I remember YeshuaSlaveJeff trying to argue for the justified use of this word, but how on earth can you call someone "stupid" in love? I suppose only in the right context where the person you were talking to knew they had been stupid, and you were saying it simply as a way of agreeing with them in love, i.e. making them feel a little better about themselves in knowing that you understood that we all make mistakes. I can certainly call myself stupid on occasion, but that's a different thing. But to speak of unbelievers in this way? The only way they would not be offended (and thus sinned against) is if they had already repented, and were using it in reference to themselves, and even then you would have to be careful.

I would never in a million years call them stupid to their face. That would be cruel and unproductive. However, there are indeed people who are profoundly mentally damaged in the psychological sense. The end product of this damage is stupidity. You might not like the sound of the word but don't blame me. God made humans easily fallible. The real question is why?

Greetings @Teshuvah777
2 Corinthians 4:4
satan, who is the god of this world, has blinded the minds of those who don't believe. They are unable to see the glorious light of the Good News. They don't understand this message about the glory of Christ, who is the exact likeness of God.

John 3:20
All who do evil hate the light and refuse to go near it for fear their sins will be exposed.

Jeremiah 9:6
They do one act of violence after another, and one deceitful thing after another. They refuse to pay attention to me," says the LORD.

There are so many other scriptures answering your question.
Let me ask you this.......
If God forced people to love Him and Believe Him, what Love did He get?
Blessings

^The answer exactly.
Also, we all have our foolish moments. Humble thy self.

Because it does not want to.

Only a defective soul and mind would not want to. Who is so happy that they would willfully reject the possibility of eternal heaven? It is more probable that they see no path towards it whatsoever so they stick with what they already 'know'.

I know a young woman who is a heroine addict. Her whole family and all her friends did everything in their power and one of them sacrificed her life's savings to get this woman clean. In the end she rejected all their help and said

"guys I don't want help. I don't want to stop using. I just want to get high! This is what I want to do. Good bye."

and that was the last time anyone heard of her. There is strong suspicion that she is no longer living. Nobody on Earth truly wants to die in agony on the streets or somewhere in the woods. Something was very wrong in her head.

Stupid people could be some of the most blessed people on the planet... (I don't like that word either, just using cause of the OP)... Ignorance is bliss, kind of thing...

God Bless!

Because if we were perfect what need would we have of the Lord's grace, forgiveness and strength? We would rely on our own.

I know of similar cases...

Suppose it would be on an individual by individual basis as to which ones were actually willfully choosing it or not...

God Bless!

But doesn't perfect knowledge lead to the realization that we are just fragile lifeforms that are completely helpless without God and totally dependent on him controlling the myriad and complex physical, chemical, and spiritual forces that hold us together in this universe?

How does one ask for forgiveness if brain damage leads to memory loss? I've seen that happen. Some people get to keep all their old memories but can't keep new ones and some lose all their old memories while retaining new ones. Are they retroactively forgiven based on an overall spiritual state that would probably ask for forgiveness if only it could somehow remember?

Greetings,
We ARE ALL Born Into sin and the curse. Our flesh wants what it wants and is influenced, pulled, drawn, excited by and craves what this sin nature likes.

The god of this world, system, curse and sin nature works 24/7/365 trying to keep the light out. he keeps the veil over their eyes and tempting, feeding, tricking their sin nature into believing that the life away from God is best and deceiving them into thinking they are not good enough or God does not care or even God does not exist.

You have got to realize they have no idea where these thoughts come from. They think they are their own thoughts.

It's a spiritual battle in which you should be concerned with and not the natural mind and so forth.

well...you do make a great point. It would be great if I was dumber and didn't have to ponder these hard questions day in and day out. I don't enjoy doubting. It is exhausting and joyless :(

I am at a total loss when it comes to the spiritual battle. God only seems to interact with a small number of people and leaves everyone else to their own devices. I am very confused as to why this is happening. Unless it really isn't and there is something more subtle, an invisible pull towards the light happening under the surface.

Well that would make sense....but do we have scripture clearly indicating that all these factors are considered? It seems very binary to me: accept Christ=saved, don't accept= lost forever

We can't rely on our feelings about God. That is dangerous.

Well we know children under the age of accountability go right to Heaven with the Father.

So those with brain damage that can not think or understand clearly, how could God be a Just and True God if He condemned them?

Now let's say some one kept pushing away every attempt God made to get them to turn unto him for 39 years and then got in an accident and became brain dead.

Would he be a Just Judge if He said oh well you said no to me 153 times and now your like this, oh well come on in my faithful servant?

It's most dangerous to keep pushing God away.

My Dad took his own life. After I got saved years later I cried over that. I had no idea where my dad was. I began to question God and at times was upset over things I had been told.

I felt, heard inside my spirit this....
Do you believe I Am a True and Just Judge?
I said yes Sir I do.
Then He asked, do you trust me?
I said with tears flooding the land....yes Father I do trust you.
At that very fraction of time, Peace flooded my being and I felt this care and hurt leave.

Umm, FYI, atheistic countries have been shown to be more peaceful and more following a "love your enemies" and "blessed are the meek" standard.
Are you calling me stupid? :)

I don't know. Do born again people wrestle with these many questions? Or do you automatically get information planted into your mind?

Every single day I'm surrounded by people who live entirely by their own feelings. They never glance at the word of God or even bother contemplating it. They just wrestle with their worldly problems day in and day out without ever questioning why life is so hard. They never try to know God even though they have every reason to give this a try. I get the sense that most of them are just too exhausted. That isn't a good excuse but they seem to be very much alone.

How did he push God away? Was it despair or arrogance? It is very easy to despair.

Ok you say you don't know.
Why? Have you repented of your sins and asked Jesus to be Lord over your life?

Yes We can wrestle with questions and we spend time in His Word by reading and hearing it being taught.

As we do this then The Holy Spirit helps us to understand.

Every single day I'm surrounded by people who live entirely by their own feelings. They never glance at the world of God. That's the struggle or way of this world.
Many Christians who dwell in this way also find themselves within that struggle right beside the worldly people.

Sounds to me like you are seeing how the enemy operates.. like in mark 4, the parable of the sower. The enemy blinds people and gets them so consumed with daily life (cares of the world) that they forget about God, or have no time left to even try to fellowship with Him and learn about Him. They get so distracted (which is what the devil wants) so that a relationship with the Father is lost or severely anemic

Blessings to you

If it were under despair, then they began to believe the lies the enemy had been feeding them, despair is also self pity which is dangerous.

People push God away for many reasons.
From enjoying their sinful life to thinking on my death bed I will accept God but now I live for me.
There are excuses from a to z.
