Many Christians are involved in politics but what is the Bible's view?

Matthew 6:9,10
" You must pray then this way,'Our Father in heaven may your name be sanctified, let your Kingdom come, let your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.'"

Daniel 2:44
" In the days of those kings God will set up a kingdom that will never be brought to ruin and it will crush and bring an end to all these kingdoms and it itself will stand to times indefinite."

I don't see either of those verses applying to politics, though. I think as Christians we live beyond this world, but we should keep focus on the world and neighbors around us as well, especially when our opinions (voting) are asked for. If we see something as wrong or an injustice, I see it as Christian to speak up about it instead of ignoring it.

Should Christians get involved in politics?

Yes, you are the light of the world. What good are you if you hide under a bush? Serve with integrity and do it not for yourself but for the honor of God most High.

Agreed. Supporting God's kingdom can help us to do that. It encompasses unswervingly supporting God's way of solving man's problems while simultaneously denouncing wrongdoing.

Matthew 27:17 So when the crowd had gathered, Pilate asked them, “Which one do you want me to release to you: Jesus Barabbas, or Jesus who is called the Messiah?”

Acts 6:3 Brothers and sisters, choose seven men from among you who are known to be full of the Spirit and wisdom. We will turn this responsibility over to them

Acts 15:22 Then the apostles and elders, with the whole church, decided to choose some of their own men and send them to Antioch with Paul and Barnabas. They chose Judas (called Barsabbas) and Silas, men who were leaders among the believers.

Jesus was seen as a political threat. I guess when He started talking about Kingdoms, they thought He was planning a coup de tat.
But there is no evidence whether he was left or right wing. No but wait a minute. "Blessed are the poor" Call me biased but that sounds left wing to me.

Jesus was more of a socialist and condemned the "capitalistic Pharisees/Jews" then as lovers of money.

Just like the Father (made rain fall on everyone). It is the fallen man who put a price tag on everything. Before that, everything was free.

Consequently, Jesus implicated those who love money as haters of God (hence would also hate Christ, antiChrists?)

The religious leaders wanted him done away with because he threatened their position and used the guise of sedition to achieve their ends.

It's interesting to note. The Bible says that the relationship as in Jesus' day would be adversarial against Christians that now in the Lord's day would truly support God's kingdom. Even when Jesus was young, Herod took issue with Bible prophecy launching a campaign against young children because he felt his power threatened.

Truly though in awaiting a kingdom government that will bring an end to man's problems, one would think that all people even world rulers would be willing to submit to God's authority through Christ, but the Bible reveals otherwise, and many fulfill what it says.(Psalm 2:2)

Christ came and gave his life for mankind (John 3:16,17), promises to soon end death ( John 11) and to remove all sickness and suffering. (Isaiah 9:6,7)Supporting Government by God the Bible says will bring lasting happiness, peace and order.

its easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for them to get to Heaven.
Bad news for Bill Gates? But he gives a lot of his money away.

He also keeps a lot of money to himself. He gave out of his abundance (Mark 12:44). Same thing that Pharisees did.

Everyone wants to be like that since history. A "righteous" justification for the pursuit and possession of abundant wealth.

But that is not what Jesus have in mind. Think about the only "money miracle" Jesus did was not to give it to the poor but only to pay their taxes.

"Give back to Cesar what belongs to Cesar..." Cesar is nothing but an evil man. Give back what belongs to the evil..... A good parent will not give a snake to their children. This is the significance of how Christ treated worldly wealth and did not give any to anyone because it doesn't come from God (1 John 2:15-17).

In terms of things, however much talk there is, I don't think that the entities in 1 Corinthians 10.32 are going to change through politics: 'the Jew...the Gentile..the church of God'. It's when Christians start having expectations that they are going to be just like Old Testament Jewish patriarchs or like Gentile nations, that problems arise.

PS: Re. the lower back tattoo ref., above, I don't see that having one/not having one is politically left or right or anything political at all. :)

I wish that I could have a family member that is a politician, so that I can get a lot of book deals.

Jesus supported capitalism and free enterprise, not socialism.

Jesus would have a lot of things to blast on both sides of the political spectrum.
