I think sometimes people get into a mode like they are talking to their best bud who might laugh at that (not that is should be funny to anyone), and momentarily forget everyone isn't like their best bud.

Or it just "seemed funny at the time". Or the thinking that the funniness of it justifies the means. :(

Aside from that, just glad I didn't say it.

I believe what Donald Trump said in his speak to the Saudi Arabians. He says the the terrorists are not doing what they are doing because of religion. It is not Islam that is motivating these extremists. They are criminals that are using religion and politics to terrorise and commit murder. Getting rid of Muslims from our countries is not the answer because most are peace loving people. We need to appreciate the differenece between people doing things motivated by their religious faith and criminals using religion as something to hang their hat on to commit murder and terror among innocent people. There are as many criminals using Christianity for the same purpose. We see that all through history and even in the present day. I do not believe that these extremists are true Muslims. They may profess it, but just like "Christian" religious hypocrites, they are using religion for their own evil purposes.

I agree, and it can get complicated, but we need to work at it, and know exactly what we need to battle before we do battle. In spite of all the junk that people claim, some true some not, there are some smart people up there that can do whatever they put their minds too. Trump is one, he just needs to properly direct it.

The Muslim people that I have met, and I met a number of them and talked with them when I did my MDiv paper on Islam and Christianity, were good people who treated me with kindness and respect and were impressed that I took an interest in wanting to know more about their faith. One gave me a copy of the Koran, which I read a little of it. I didn't find it very interesting and it seemed to be repetitive in places. But these people just sought to practice their religion in peace and never put pressure on me to be converted to their religion. It is also interesting to note that the women I met did not appear to be disadvantaged or down-trodden in any way. They seemed to be quite happy and self-fulfilled in their place within their religion.

Glad to hear that.

We got our women "down trodders" here in the states as well so leave it to people to bring up others shortcomings when we might be just as bad.

“MULTIPLE CONFIRMED FATALITIES at Manchester Arena,” David Leavitt wrote on Twitter Monday. “The last time I listened to Ariana Grande I almost died too.”

There is nothing positive about that tweet. People try to use humor to draw attention to themselves, but we should direct attention to our Lord and Savior. People use their words to tear other people apart, but we should build other people up. Worst of all, this person is using a big news event to maximize the attention grabbing and destruction.

I pray that this tactic backfires and instead people who read the tweet will turn to their attention to God and seek healing for the hurting.

Emmanuel Macron “This imponderable threat, this threat, will be a fact of daily life in the coming years.”

I guess some folks have accepted attacks as a way of life...like a flat tire now.

Sad and sick.

Very sad, indeed.

The US and England essentially saved France from having to declare, "Hell Hitler", but it seems no one can save it from having to proclaim, "Allah Akbar!".

A totally inappropriate message. And I wouldn't regard it as a funny private joke either. Its quite lame.
Some of you might think I'm just promoting gossip here, but my point is that we need wisdom and social skills when using social media. Sometimes I go over the boundaries, but I try not to. Don't think I'll venture into Twitterland ever. Too much bad influence there.

It fails on two counts. It's not humorous, and it's in very, very poor taste.

I'm old enough to remember a time when people weren't offended by everything. These days being offended is a full time job for some folks.

Oscarr, even though there are indeed many fine and upstanding individuals who were born as Muslims, it is a sad reality that Islam is a religion of hatred and intolerance that naturally lends itself to this type of violence, which has been a foundation of Islam since its foundation.

It wasn't too long ago in the history of the Christian Church that the same could have been said about Christians. All you have to do is the read the history of the Inquisition and how innocent people were murdered and tortured in the name of Christianity. There is no difference. It is just the label has changed. The Klu Klux Klan who lynched innocent black people in the Southern States of the USA had many good Christian church goers in their ranks. Are we then to say that Christianity is a murderous religion. There are many outside of Christ who believe just that, in the same way that many believe the same about Islam.
