Bill Nye is a dime store eugenicist

I liked his children's show, but I think he has gotten way too into ethics and philosophy. This is probably an extreme view of environmentalism.

I believe in conservatism, and trying to be good to the environment, but trying to control the human population as a way to save the environment is a bridge too far.

This is not a problem for the Chinese. If a girl in a small village gets pregnant and she is to young to get married then a black car shows up and they takes her to get an abortion. No one shows much compassion for her. They put a limit on how many kids you're allowed to have and they still claim they have to many people in China.

Having worked at a landfill last fall really changed my views on how humanity truly is destroying the earth with pollution. It was bad.

Yeah look at China everybody, a country where they're now experiencing negative population growth because the male-female ratio is out of proportion and thus bride price goes through the roof. Not enough women to pair off with the men.

Eugenics has a disturbing level of acceptance in public discourse, just not in the typical ways we're used to associating it. James Watson has been a eugenics advocate for years, maybe even decades, but because it's dressed up in the context of "breeding out disabilities in defects" somehow that softens the blow and the public is willing to hear him out.

Bill Nye is a joke of a human being in a wide variety of ways. If we practice eugenics, can we start w/him?

That's a cherry picked, out of context quote. There is no overpopulation problem worldwide.

As a Catholic I don't use ARTIFICIAL contraception. But I have CERTAINLY used natural family planning to limit my kids to two children.

Yes, the world is over populated. There are mass extinctions going on. Our basic lifestyle is causing climate change which is going to make our world living hell. We are headed for a worldwide fresh water shortage that is going to cause terrible horrible amounts of death. We are undergoing mass extinctions because our population is taking up the natural habitats of these animals. I could go on and on. We are creating hell on earth. Give it another 50 years and we will live to regret this.

There is. What do you think is the main source of climate change? Our overuse of fossil fuels is due to the number of people using them.
