The righteousness in this context of these passages can't be talking about dual imputation...no it's not. It's referring to Christ's righteousness that comes by REPENTANCE. Also gives precise context of a false prophet/teacher (2 Peter 2, Jude). We can't be picking and choosing out of context Scriptures to form vague theologies/doctrines. Let's keep pressing in!
"Then Barnabas and Saul, SENT FORTH BY the HOLY SPIRIT, went down to Seleucia and sailed from there to Cyprus. When they arrived at Salamis, they proclaimed the WORD of GOD in the Jewish synagogues. And JOHN was with them as their helper.
They traveled through the whole island as far as Paphos, where they found a JEWISH SORCEROR and FALSE PROPHET named Bar-Jesus, an attendant of the proconsul, Sergius Paulus. The proconsul, a MAN of INTELLIGENCE, summoned Barnabas and Saul because he WANTED TO HEAR the WORD of GOD. But Elymas the sorcerer (for that is what his name means) OPPOSED them and TRIED to TURN the proconsul FROM the FAITH.
Then Saul, who was also called Paul, FILLED with the HOLY SPIRIT, looked DIRECTLY AT Elymas and said, “O CHILD of the DEVIL and ENEMY of ALL RIGHTEOUSNESS! You are FULL of ALL KINDS of DECEIT and TRICKERY. Will you NEVER STOP PERVERTING the STRAIGHT WAYS OF THE LORD? Now LOOK, the HAND of the LORD is AGAINST YOU, and for A TIME you will be BLIND and UNABLE to SEE the LIGHT of the SUN.” IMMEDIATELY MIST and DARKNESS came over him, and he groped about, seeking someone to lead him by the hand.
When the proconsul saw what had happened, HE BELIEVED, for he was ASTONISHED at the TEACHING ABOUT the LORD." Acts 13:4-12
"See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are. The reason why the world does not know us is that it did not know him. Beloved, we are God’s children now, and what we will be has not yet appeared; but we know that when he appears we shall be like him, because we shall see him as he is. And everyone who thus hopes in him purifies himself as he is pure.
Everyone who makes a practice of sinning also practices lawlessness; sin is lawlessness. You know that he appeared in order to take away sins, and in him there is no sin. No one who abides in him keeps on sinning; no one who keeps on sinning has either seen him or known him. Little children, let no one deceive you. Whoever practices righteousness is righteous, as he is righteous. Whoever makes a practice of sinning is of the devil, for the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the works of the devil. No one born of God makes a practice of sinning, for God’s seed abides in him; and he cannot keep on sinning, because he has been born of God. By this it is evident who are the children of God, and who are the children of the devil: whoever does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor is the one who does not love his BROTHER." 1 John 3:1-10
