The answer to what span of time "one" prophetic hour represents is found in 2 Peter 3:8. The surest way to interpret scripture is to use scripture to interpret scripture.

God doesn't perceive time the way we do. This concept is so important Peter admonishes us not to let this one fact "escape our notice". 2 Peter 3:8 says "One hour with God is as a thousand years in our time". The math is simple. Divide one thousand years by 24 (the hours in a day). The result is 41.6 years equals one prophetic hour.

The ten kingdoms in Revelation (which are kings who have received no legitimate kingdom, in other words they are dictators) was established in March 1947 when the Iron Curtain fell across Eastern Europe. They were the Soviet Union, East Germany, Poland, Bulgaria, Romania, Czechoslovakia, Hungary, Albania and Yugoslavia (The Iron and East Bloc).

The tenth kingdom is the Roman Catholic population of Eastern Europe which represents the Vatican State (the "miry clay" found in the prophecies od Daniel, representing infirm spiritual belief).

That understanding seems a bit dubious to me. Do you really think that the intention of 2 Peter 3:8 is to redefine the length of one hour? How exactly does that extrapolation work in reverse, because the equation goes both ways?

It has been my observation that when a measure of time (hour, day, year) is preceded by a number that it speaks to that specific duration of that measure. For example: 3 days and nights, 42 months, 1260 days, 1 hour, 1 day, etc. are all exactly what you'd think.

When a measure of time (hour, day, year) is preceded by a definite or indefinite article (the, a) then it is understood more as an occurrence of something rather than a measure of time. For example: the day of the Lord, the hour of testing, the favorable year of the Lord, etc.

The ten kings receive authority as kings for one hour. Revelation 17:12

Thanks, but anyone who can transmute one hour into 41.6 years through scriptural alchemy isn't someone I care to debate.

Since this post is in an eschatology forum, shouldn't the "rumors of war" be specific to something prophetic, like the second seal? I don't want to "derail" a thread but I think the ten kings are integral to the time of war mentioned in the second seal.

Some of us are looking for something that Christ said would happen before 70 AD according to the clear timeline found in Luke's Gospel.

I'm thinking more like Jared Kushner. Trump assigned Kushner to broker a peace deal between Israel and the Palestinians.

It would indeed be incredibly ironic that the man, Trump, whom American Evangelicals thought would usher in a new golden age for a Christian America and thus voted for him turned out to be the key to the Antichrist's rise to power.

Kushner is an Orthodox Jew which I think really helped in his relations with Netanyahu. There is some speculation that the Antichrist will be Jewish because one of the requirements of the messiah was to be in the lineage of King David. Only a Jew can have that.

It's pure speculation at this point but like you said, this is something to keep an eye on. Trump is going to visit Israel around May 22 so we'll know the details afterwards.
