Anything in particular on your list to read?

That's the crazy part, I have nothing on my list!
I just am excited at the idea of having time and being able to browse the library aisles at my leisure. I haven't read any fantasy books for a long time, so maybe that's what I'll go for to begin. Just shaking it up.

I'll take any suggestions!

I'm sort of in between books at the moment, beyond what I have to read for school. I have a few that I've started, but I'm not really into them enough at the moment.

What are some of the titles?
Some of the classics I had the most difficulty were ones that were really long and translated into English from another language. Sometimes they just don't translate very well.
I really enjoyed The Ladies Paradise by Emile Zola though. ^_^ I guess it translated well and wasn't too long. The story was interesting to me as well.

You could try the School for Good and Evil series. :D It's a juvenile fantasy... but funny in a way that makes me think of cartoons when I read it.
What are some fantasy books you've read before that you enjoyed?

today was reading a little piece someone wrote about the christian philosopher nikolai berdyaev, he is an inspiring influence on me.

Philosopher of Freedom

here is a clip of it:

It is very unusual for Berdyaev that he actually gives us a formal systematic analyses of the main characteristics of objectification:

1) The estrangement of the object from the subject.
2) The absorption of the unrepeatably individual and personal in what is common and impersonally universal.
3) The rule of necessity, of determination from without, the crushing of freedom and the concealment of it.
4) Adjustment to the grandiose mien of the world of history, to the average man, and the socialization of man and his opinions which destroys distinctive character.

As an antidote to Objectification Berdyaev proposes "communion in sympathy and love, and the overcoming of strangement; personalism and the expression of the individual and personal character of each existence; a transition to the realm of freedom and determination from within, with victory over enslaving necessity; and the predominance of quality over quantity, of creativeness over adaptation."

will probably finish his book called "the meaning of the creative act" once I don't have internet anymore.

How did you figure out in which order to read them?
I know the original three books were Foundation, Foundation and Empire and Second Foundation. I watch a YouTube video discussing the prequel and sequel novels and the order which they went in. I have read Prelude to Foundation and Forward the Foundation. They were OK. So far I like the original three books better. I will continue with Foundation's Edge and Foundation and Earth.
