Is 33 old? Why do I feel so old? I feel like this everyday, like time is just passing by and I'm not getting anything done..
The believer needs above all to raise his or her Ebenezers (1 Samuel 7.12), in trust in Alpha and Omega (Revelation 1).

I'm 33, and I don't think we are old :) I certainly have things I'd like to do or have done, but we can trust in God's timing, not our own :)

Some bad things happened to me in the past which certainly changed timing, but it is important to let God heal and direct us. I feel very blessed that we have Him in our lives!

Thanks. I guess. Still feel like time is just passing me by...

I get it. I really do. :) I sometimes need to tell myself the same thing I told you ;). It's true though. Stuff happens sometimes, but God is there throughout it all.

I'm 36, and don't feel old...well, most days...I do have days where things hurt that didn't used to hurt...like my back, and feet...but that has more to do with the fact that I'm lazy. Oh, and then songs from high school are on the classic rock station...that's weird...but mostly I feel like high school was just yesterday.

What is it that you feel like you're not getting done?

I hear you, and i think it´s normal to think like that to not let life pass us by. I think it´s healthy to ask ourselves questions everyday, as long as it does not become negative. In reality no one says we have to accomplish anything, i think it´s our ego talking. We want to fit in, we want to do something, we want to matter, to leave a footprint in this world. Maybe we should stop thinking so much:) The older we get, the quicker life pass us by, it´s strange... We should practise in living in the moment, not in the past nor the future, but right here, right now, but that is difficult...

I just want to dedicate my whole self and life to Jesus but I am so distracted by things in my life and I'm always worried about my future or what can be done to make my self and life better. I want to grow...and experience a godly life...do godly things...i feel like me worrying about stuff stops me from living....if that makes sense and one of my other problem is fear..i say I will do things but I don't do it because I'm afraid sometimes..i put it off..i feel like I need to start putting Jesus first and start doing stuff for myself ...

What you just wrote above, ask God for it. The one thing I notice in my own life, is if I have idols (ANYTHING that is more important in my life than God) it hampers my success. Ask God to show you your idols and once that is shown, ask Him for help getting rid of them. The ONLY way to advance is to put God first in everything and I mean EVERYTHING.

Very hard, yet what you get back in return is priceless, not just for eternity, but for TODAY, for your life here on earth. God is a treasure, a present help TODAY and forever. You have found a pearl in the person of Jesus Christ. What is that pearl worth?

Matthew 13
[45] Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a merchant man, seeking goodly pearls:
[46] Who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had, and bought it.

Amen! One thing you MUST keep in mind is that any power you have to do good is from God, not in and of yourself. In other words, once you start progressing and feeling better do not, I REPEAT do not puff yourself up. It's God working in you both to will and to do of His good pleasure, not your flesh.

Galatians 6:
[3] For if a man think himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceiveth himself.

That be a process, a daily decision to humble yourself and follow the Lord.

I know about being afraid, putting things off...countless times I found myself
repenting and getting back to doing what I should be doing for the Lord.
Where I use to live when I was younger... I was always around many racist
people...in our neighborhood, at school etc.
Being godly around racist people brought me a lot of persecution...going to high school was torture for me, I wanted so much to stay home and not have to contend with all the bad stuff day after day.
I'm thankful for having a godly mother who showed me how to keep on walking
through the fire...education was what I needed to get ahead in life.
My own mom dropped out of school and I saw how the lack of education really hindered not only her but us(her own children) it was enough to make me keep going back to school day after day.

Escaping poverty was my goal...I was determined not to let the bad stuff going
on around me keep me from getting that diploma, I'd learn to drive a car (my mom didn't know how to drive) and so with the Word of God hidden in my heart
I reflected on it often while my enemies came against me at school.
I often prayed while in school and recited bible verses to myself as this helped me to get through the day. In my purse I carried a tiny bible and would often read
it after completing an assignment in class.
I'd make a few friends who were like myself, poor and not accepted by our peers.
We'd eat together at lunch and give each other encouraging notes as we passed
one another in the hall (changing classes).

As a believer I think it is wise if we connect with another believer/believers, we
ain't to be in this alone.
We should partner up and support one another.
It'd be good to have prayer partners and mentors who live where you do.
Accountability and support are key...having someone or having several people to keep you grounded/focused and supported is of great benefit.

I can totally relate to that. Anxiety, fear and worry have been very dominant parts of my life for years. I hate to sound like an AA sponsor, but the fact that you see this is an issue is a good first step. The next would be prayer...and not just casual prayer, but deep fervent prayer. Read the scriptures. Find some good biblically based messages to listen to, books to read. One thing that really helped me was listening to some sermons from Alistair Begg on anxiety and worry, that you can find here. Truth For Life - The Bible-Teaching Ministry of Alistair Begg

Also, if you click the link in my sig line, you can read my testimony on overcoming anxiety...I posted it a couple of months ago, with the hope that it will be encouragement for those suffering with anxiety and depression.
