Perhaps you misunderstood by comment. If racism doesn't exist then my comment would be nonsensical. However, for me to make such a statement, in which I associate a particular characteristic to a group of people based on race, racism would have to exist. If racism doesn't exist, you would have no basis on which to be upset by the comment.

Yet clearly, you understood the comment, and were justifiably perturbed enough to throw your arms up and accept my racist comment as being racist.

How is it that sometimes race is the dividing line? If race is the dividing line, then race is the dividing line. If there are times when the dividing line between good and bad is not race, then the dividing line is not race.

I don't think that Mike Tyson raping Desiree Washington had anything to do with either desperation or race.
If what is motivating crime is only desperation, then females would be committing crimes at rates higher than males. There situations are statistically more desparate the situations that the young youths find themselves in.

There are many factors involved, including cultural attitudes.
