I'm not one who always tries to see prophecy in everything, still consider myself somewhat of a preterist, but nonetheless have an interest in eschatology/End Times discussions, especially in regards to present-day events.
As you all probably know, things got real very fast last night. U.S. cruise missiles bombed an SAA airfield, killed a small amount of regime soldiers, and now of course, Russia and its allies are (unsurprisingly) furious. Relations have dipped, Syria's threatened to fire SCUDs at Israel in the event of future U.S. strikes (not that they haven't threatened Israel countless times before or anything), and...well, potential for escalation is real and frankly frightening to me.
Isaiah 17 comes to mind very quickly, but there's considerable debate about whether that's an event that's yet to come or one that's already happened, given Damascus has been besieged and damaged quiet a bit. And, of course, the strike didn't blow away the city, but again, escalation potential exists so I guess anything could happen (or, best-case scenario, tensions calm at some point, but not sure I have much hope in that happening).
In the end, I guess I'd just like to hear anyone's theories, interpretations or just general commentary on these developments. I figured something big was gonna happen within these next few years anyway, but still undecided if this is just simply nations attacking nations or a precursor to something (or things) a lot bigger. Thanks, all.
