Heaven or Hell, what would you choose?

After you die you find yourself with a choice. You can chose to go to heaven or hell.

Heaven is not the christian heaven or any the heaven of any other religion for that matter. It is a place of complete peace which is open to those that have lived good and unselfish lifes.

Hell on the other hand is a place of torment, a place where those who have harmed others throughout their lifes go. There they stay until they recognize their sins and learn to see the truth wich takes a long time without guidance. Then they may enter heaven.

So given the choice, heaven or hell?

I choose neither. Living here on an earth cleansed from sin and it's consequences such as sickness and death. Forever under the reign of "God's Kingdom Government" appeals more to me.

Matthew 5:5 "Happy are the mild-tempered ones, since they will inherit the earth".

Psalm 37:10-11 "And just a little while longer, and the wicked one will be no more; And you will certainly give attention to his place, and he will not be. But the meek ones themselves will possess the earth, And they will indeed find their exquisite delight in the abundance of peace.

Psalm 37:29 The righteous themselves will possess the earth,
And they will reside forever upon it.

Psalm 72:7-8 In his days the righteous one will sprout,
And the abundance of peace until the moon is no more. And he will have subjects from sea to sea. And from the River to the ends of the earth.

Psalm 46:8-9 Come, YOU people, behold the activities of Jehovah, How he has set astonishing events on the earth. He is making wars to cease to the extremity of the earth. The bow he breaks apart and does cut the spear in pieces; The wagons he burns in the fire.

Isaiah 33:24 And no resident will say: "I am sick." The people that are dwelling in [the land] will be those pardoned for their error.

Isaiah 11:6-9 And the wolf will actually reside for a while with the male lamb, and with the kid the leopard itself will lie down, and the calf and the maned young lion and the well-fed animal all together; and a mere little boy will be leader over them. And the cow and the bear themselves will feed; together their young ones will lie down. And even the lion will eat straw just like the bull. And the sucking child will certainly play upon the hole of the cobra; and upon the light aperture of a poisonous snake will a weaned child actually put his own hand. They will not do any harm or cause any ruin in all my holy mountain; because the earth will certainly be filled with the knowledge of Jehovah as the waters are covering the very sea.

It'll be quite a different world then dont you think.

I might make it what many hope to find in heaven. I find that many people transfer their greatest desires for happiness to what they percieve heaven to be when the Bible all along promises these things for the earth.

After all, it was God's original purpose and it has not changed that Man enjoy peace and happiness right here on earth.

Genesis 1:26-28 "And God went on to say: "Let us make man in our image, according to our likeness, and let them have in subjection the fish of the sea and the flying creatures of the heavens and the domestic animals and all the earth and every moving animal that is moving upon the earth." And God proceeded to create the man in his image, in God's image he created him; male and female he created them. Further, God blessed them and God said to them: "Be fruitful and become many and fill the earth and subdue it, and have in subjection the fish of the sea and the flying creatures of the heavens and every living creature that is moving upon the earth."

Isaiah 55:10-11 "For just as the pouring rain descends, and the snow, from the heavens and does not return to that place, unless it actually saturates the earth and makes it produce and sprout, and seed is actually given to the sower and bread to the eater, so my word that goes forth from my mouth will prove to be. It will not return to me without results, but it will certainly do that in which I have delighted, and it will have certain success in that for which I have sent it".

Ahhh, nor would it be painfull on the eyes if it was smaller less bold type. :D

although I dont believe in heaven or hell.

Based on your descriptions the choice that most will make should be obvious. Many people will reject your definition because it doesnt fit theirs, others will choose heaven because it sounds good.
I choose Hell. :) ;)

Hell definatly. Thats the warm place with the chicks lacking morale objections

Btw Lightbearer, JWs tends to be rather dishonest and mentally unstable. Would you like to live with lots of mental patients?

It would be preferable to the company you would rather keep. :(

Psalm 1:1-2 "Happy is the man that has not walked in the counsel of the wicked ones, and in the way of sinners has not stood, and in the seat of ridiculers has not sat. But his delight is in the law of Jehovah, and in his law he reads in an undertone day and night".

sure it is. :D
Why take things too seriously?

anyway, my reason for choosing hell, would be that this hell sounds like a learning place. For two basic reasons. One, you cant really know good without having something bad to compare it too. So by visiting the bad, I can truly appreciate the good. also, im not arogant enough to believe I know or have learned everything. This hell sounds like a good place to learn about things and myself. In this hell I will accend to heaven when heaven decides I have learned enough, not when I decide that I am good enough for heaven.
If that makes any sense. :) :D

"...not when I decide that I am good enough for heaven."

None of us ARE good enough for Heaven and all of us deserve Hell. Christians accept Christ's atonement on the cross as the way to heaven. If you believe you can "learn" enough to get to heaven, then you will be in hell forever. No pun intended...

Nomad: Lack of wisdom? Can you show me how it lacks wisdom? Are you telling me that your almighty god cant take a joke?

Outlaw: did you even read the main question? In it, it was stated that once you learned from your sins you go to heaven.
So I figured im not arrogant enough to believe I have learned and completed everything in life so I will visit hell for awhile.

God can take a joke, but you are insinuating that you would prefer to take hell over the free gift of eternal life Jesus bought for you through His crucifiction.

You are right! You cannot get to heaven on your own merit or "enlightenment". To get into heaven, even by the standards set forth in the original question, would be impossible for us as humans.

That's where Jesus comes in. :)

Yep. Wasnt that the question, wether you would take heaven or hell?

Sorry, but my personal beliefs dont including following a human sacrifice to heaven.

And I believe the original question was, what would You choose and then layed out some hypothetical assumptions on how it all worked. so I made a choice.

The original thread also said that people could go from hell to heaven by learning from their sins. So I take that to assume that you can get to heaven without jesus.
