What is God actually waiting for with his people? This is a question that ask the most on my walk with Christ. It's been nearly 2000 years since His ascension into heaven. Which seems like a long time to us, but to God just a blip on the screen. But I still struggle still with the realization that no matter how bad I want God to come, that it may or may not happen in my lifetime. So this begs my question, what is God waiting for prior to his return. In addition, why does God seem so silent when there is so much chaos in the world? His plan is mysterious, but what is his plan? What is God doing right now, this very moment to conquer the devil and place His kingdom here and how do I see Him at work with all noise around. I wish I could be be closer, but sometimes I feel so far. I'm asking honestly for His will. Where did I go so wrong?

it would very likely be in your lifetime. according to Ezekiel 38-39. if you notice the mentality of the leaders of the countries around Israel today. there is a translation problem there that I can point out. as my native language is Hebrew. when its written Ethiopia in the English bible. it comes from כוש. which according to modern archeology and so on was where today is north Sudan. not Ethiopia.
also, not mistake but relevant. is Meshech and Tubal is where today is turkey.
Persia=iran and iraq
Put=Libya.
gog=a word that used to mean a barbarian. comes from a group of horse riding people called gog that livied where today is georgia. that where considered the most barbaric people of the time. like the word barbarian comes from the bad reputation of the historic group the barbarians.
magog(מגוג)= from gog
so gog magog = a barbaric man from Georgia.
this feats Erdogan. the current president of turkey. which is surprisingly is not Turkish but Georgian.

Personally, I'm doubting the second coming is ever going to happen. The many points in the Bible that refer to "these last days" as in the lifetime of the Apostles, and Revelation and its symbolism was addressed to the specific leaders of the churches at the time.

It was all supposed to happen then. It didn't.

I happen to believe that He has come already. I believe this to be an individual experience.....and after it is all over, we come back to tell the story..Just like Jesus did after His ascension. In one of the gospel, Jesus said there were some standing there who would not die before seeing Heaven in all its glory. Some are looking without expecting to see people disappear....But flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom...it will return to the dust. We have to look up, for our redemption draweth nigh...... Watch as well as pray.....for in an hour ye think not, the Son of man cometh. Dont be caught sleeping.....You have to watch.

Jesus taught that for all of those who will eventually be saved (even if not yet born) to be saved, the effects of sin must continue until all of them are saved (Matthew 13:24-30). We speed the day by spreading the Good News as well as being obedient in everything else.

The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance. (2 Peter 3:9, 1984 NIV)

Since everything will be destroyed in this way, what kind of people ought you to be? You ought to live holy and godly lives as you look forward to the day of God and speed its coming. That day will bring about the destruction of the heavens by fire, and the elements will melt in the heat. (2 Peter 3:11-12, 1984 NIV)

jesus(yeshua) warned us that false prophets would come after him.

Matthew 7: 15-19 "15 “Watch out for false prophets.A)'> They come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves.B)'> 16 By their fruit you will recognize them.C)'> Do people pick grapes from thornbushes, or figs from thistles?D)'> 17 Likewise, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. 18 A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit.E)'> 19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.".
because of he said this. I know the books of the bible are only holy scripture up to the end of the gosple. becaouse up to that point there where prophets (that we know really lived. and about when they lived and where) that have prophesied at least 100 detailed prophesies about things and places and times they had no way to know what will happened there. THAT CAME TRUE. and no prophecy that failed. and these prophets where good, wise, serious, people. that where in agreement with each other. so I see them (including yeshua(jesus)) as reliable source of information about who is God. and what did he say to us.
so this is why I believe the bible UP TO THE END OF THE GOSPLE SECTION. because this can only be done by a god. the book "100 prophesies" explain this in great detail.
after the gospel, there are literally only false prophesies (didn't come true, or don't make sense). and a lot of contradictions. and pointless, and nonsense verses.
examples:
1 Timothy 2:8 paul directs totally against god's basic commandment in Matthew 6 : 5-8 and in the other gospel books.
1 Thessalonians 4:15-18 1 John 2:18 Revelation 1:1 + Revelation 22:20 the writer says the world will end very soon and then it dosent. and many other cases.
but Ezekiel 38-39 and other earlier prophesies are true.

I know you already know that the gospels are the newest books in the NT. Why do you believe that the books after the Gospel, which were written closer to the time of Jesus, are less accurate?

jesus lived 0-30 ad. this is confirmed by many historical sources(jewish, roman, and others) and events. and the prophets of the old testament are obviously a lot older. paul lived 50-80 ad. and the ones that led the church after him lived latter. it doesn't matter if the unanimous writers of the NT wrote a bit latter the one book or another. the writer is not the prophet. just some one that wrote about it latter.

Ok do you are saying none of the NT books are inspired correct? I thought you were saying a few are and the rest arent.

the gospel books(the first 4 books of the NT) are a continuation of the old testament books. in them Jesus fulfill many of the prophesies of the prophets before him.
and gives a more clear, correct, and universal message than was before him. after this paul and others changed the message of Christianity to be a kind of a pop religion.
just say i except jesus as my lord and savior, and you get everything you want, forever. kind of.
which was not the original messege. and thay did some other wrong things.
so god cut the connection with them. and this is evident by their complete failure as prophets.

What is God actually waiting for with his people?

I ask myself this everyday. When is God going to bring justice and remove His people. I don't think your necessarily far from God but I don't know your situation. It's normal to feel far away and anxious for his return. I believe it's also normal to feel unsettled in the current climate of our world.

So many prophecies have come true but there's still so many to go.

Ask God where he is. Sometime I just talk to him for hours as I walk around my house or do errands etc. then I feel Him closer.

To be more specific there are several things we are waiting on. The gospel to be heard in every place. The false Christ or AntiChrist of Revelations has not performed wonders. Christians have not been persecuted by sword WORLDWIDE...yet. All hearts are not evil continuously.

The sign of the beast is already being implemented when Christians are being told worship this (whatever this may be) or die. Business owners also are being persecuted in the US so being ale to buy and sell WITHOUT breaking Gods commands are becoming more challenging.

One by one judgement is being closed on people individually until the last people are written into the books of life and death. Then the end will come.
