I am sorry you are depressed and are feeling down. If you need to talk my inbox is always open. Hang in there things will get bettter. In the meantime to prevent it from happening again, have you thought about making a list of things you could do to prevent SI?

I'm not saying it's easy, but please find some other way to deal with your depression. I'm sure you've heard it all before, but please try to get into contact with a professional. They know what they're doing.

Just got to thinking I haven't relapsed since late December 2016.

It's been about six months from the time of this posting.

It's been a few years. Almost did it again but I looked at my scars and didn't.

I'm here for you if anyone needs a listening ear or shoulder to cry on....I've been in recovery from self-injury for 25 years.

I typed something up to send you u2spicy, but for some reason it won't allow me to send you private message. Maybe it's one of my settings I don't know.

For me it was last week. I couldn't handle guilt. Happens every time I feel guilty. Hopefully I will not be doing it again.

What a wonderful opportunity to share how you've managed to stop Self-Injury for any length of time. Please share your time and what you've done to reach this point. Please share any tips or things that have encouraged you along the way. Without sharing names, what type of supportive people have you had in your life that has encouraged you to a hole on? I'd love to hear your thoughts and testimonies here in this thread on how long since you last self-injured.

To share a bit about myself, I've been Self-Injury free for approximately 30 years though the urge has been there from time to time when struggling with spiritual and emotional issues. I can say that certain friends, my pastor, and my therapist having great supports for me. In addition I've used a relapse prevention plan to get through the rough times when I just needed actions support and struggled to remember what my options were.

Join me here whether you have 5 days, or 50 years, and might share with each other how we've progressed so we can learn together and enjoy each other's time in recovery.

tried various strategies over time....

leaving house with no money on purpose, in order to walk off all of that energy and anger

meant walking without the ability to buy supplies

for me, it took walking for 20 miles to literally get it out of me

when I got home, all I could do, was go straight to bed

this is just one strategy
