That was great. Maybe you'll appreciate this too. It's Bach's Chaconne, which is very hard to play right, and this lady plays it magnificently.

Its haunting isn't it. I know very little about Bach but recently started taking an interest. When he died, people missed his organ playing more than his compositions.

There's a story that he wrote it after his first wife died. I don't know if that's true, but when I listen to Chaconne fully concentrated, it gives me complete human destiny on God's Earth.

Precisely, magnificient.... For myself, the 6 minute mark is a highlight given the mechanics of the bow and what her fret hand must be doing to make that lovely sound. I remember when i first heard this years ago, i was pretty emo at the time (lol) portions of this piece were reminiscient of something hanging on to its last breathes of life. Thanks for reminding me of this, im definitely gonna download.

I like it and I think I would have a chance of being able to play it too, not as well of course. But Claire de Lune just looks beyond my abilities altogether.

I've never played cello but I can understand its popularity. its tone is so warm and mellow and reassuring. Good love music.

Awesome, you must be pretty good

i havent went in depth with classical training. But yeah, the fret hand doesnt look too bad on la catedral, but on claire de lune she definitely has more stretches and abstract finger placements from what i can gather. The phrasing in claire is just gorgeous tho!

There are a million editions of Misirlou going back to about 1450. But the 1941 jazz arrangement is the one everybody knows.

Dick Dale and the Del-Tones is my personal favorite.
