My husband had a heart attack this morning

From yesterday- the 25th.

Just talked to the doctor. He was very lucky. He has to stay here to make sure he has no other attacks. A piece of plaque broke off causing blockage in his heart. We still do not know the damage this attack caused his heart till the ultrasound is done and we have to watch his enzymes. Our small town hospital got him opened enough so he could tolerate the transport here. They are hoping to release him this week if no other problems crop up. But they want to run these other tests. He will now have to see a cardiologist. But the doctor here travels to our town a couple times a month so he can see him. He is being watched at this point for other heart attacks the next 48 hours. He will be off work two weeks at least as long as nothing else pops up. I'll keep you updated as I get the news. I threw out all his cigarettes.

From today, the 26th... There will be no further testing today until tomorrow. He is feeling and looking better but the doctor said yesterday that he will be off at least two weeks if no other problems are found. We keep being told how lucky he was. We still do not know the extent of the damage. Thank you all so much for the prayers.

Yes he was immediately put in the cath lab from the helicopter and they put a stint in. Still waiting for more tests tomorrow.

Geez, he's not that old, is he? He had a physical job as I recall. Cigarettes? Overweight? The cases where a guy is doing everything right but still has heart problems terrify me.
