The fear of the Lord (introspection/extrospection) is the foundation of (practical) wisdom. Knowledge of the Holy One results in good judgment. Proverbs 9:10
Introspection- the examination or observation of one's own mental and emotional processes.
Extrospection- the consideration and observation of things external to the self; examination and study of externals.
Prudence/Circumspection- the quality of being wary and unwilling to take risks
Discretion- the quality of behaving or speaking in such a way as to avoid causing offense or revealing private information.
As you cultivate more wisdom you will start to see how valuable it is. As you broaden your perspectives, you can see many things/opportunities/outcomes that others can not see if they only look at their own view.
Psychology often falls short in this sense because everything is categorized and it doesn't take into account unforeseen behavioural reactions, events, or underlying circumstances. That's why wisdom is greater than knowledge.
"“I, wisdom, dwell with prudence,
And I find knowledge and discretion.
“The fear of the LORD is to hate evil;
Pride and arrogance and the evil way
And the perverted mouth, I hate.
“Counsel is mine and sound wisdom;
I am understanding, power is mine.
“By me kings reign,
And rulers decree justice.
“By me princes rule, and nobles,
All who judge rightly.
“I love those who love me;
And those who diligently seek me will find me" Proverbs 8:12-17 (Proverbs 8 Wisdom's call).
