It was being discussed on talk radio. Specifically the Roy Green show, on the Corus radio network in Canada.
There's a reference to it on his site: Roy Green
Oh right.

So not real research, then?

Just search "BBC lies"

Yeah, but you can do that for anything...search "Fox Lies" and "CNN Lies" and you're likely to get a lot of results as well.

That's why it's important to compare the aggregated fact checking data on each outlet to see who's lying the least and the most.

Much to the dismay of many Fox fans, Fox & MSNBC are the worst. Channel 4 News & BBC out of the UK are at the top of the heap, and CNN is in that middle ground where they're a 50/50.

The issue (and even though I lean conservative on many issues, I'll openly admit conservatives are worse for this than liberals are), is that people have a invalid view of what "center" or "unbiased" really means.

If you ask many conservatives, they'll act as if any media outlet that doesn't sing the praises of republicans, say that any government safety net program is "evil socialism", and doesn't favor Christian views over secular ones has a "left-leaning bias".

Of course. Does that make the BBC any more trustworthy? Because everybody's doing it, it's o.k.? They're all liars trying to push an agenda and trying to influence the voters and the politicians.

They were discussing the real research. I don't have a link to the real research, but that doesn't mean it's not real research.
How do you know they were discussing research if you cannot verify what they were discussing.

They could have been pulling ideas from out of their hat for all we know if we cannot evaluate for ourselves the research that they were discussing.

As someone that literally grew up in the foreign service and now is professionally engaged in that "sphere" I can say among professionals my experience has been that the BBC World Service (as opposed to simply the BBC) is considered the best or one of the best sources of news. Every hour, on the hour, they provide succinct and cogent news with little in the way of bias (of course, on the bottom of the hour they provide their specialty programming including sports, tech, and automotive news and opinion).

If you have only one choice for a source to pull from, it should be BBC World Service.
