I am new here and wanted to say hi!
I am exploring Christianity. I want to learn about it and see if I can be a Christian without losing myself, as I am gay and even have some gender identity issues.

Anyway, I hope to find some intelligent coversations here and really, I do hope I find the way to Christ.

Hello,

I've read the rules and I don't understand what is meant by promoting. Is it promotion if you don't see homosexuality as a struggle or if you don't see it as something that is personally bad? I just don't understand.

Could you give an example of promotion or something that isn't allowed?

Not sure I know a bunch of examples, but one would probably be implying that homosexual sexual actions are OK with God or even probably OK with God. So, it is likely that a discussion on resisting homosexual sexual action is OK in a lot of places where seeking support for one's homosexual identity is not. A moderator could give you better examples, I think.

But the forum doesn't shut out that kind of debate; it is just limited to certain forums. The policy for most of the forums seems to mainly be: talk about homosexuality in one of the designated forums. I think the site owners don't want discussions to get sidetracked, because certain challenges to basic Christian tenets inspire heated debate that hijacks the purpose of the thread. They're also concerned, of course, about making sure people aren't taught incorrect things about Christianity (this isn't limited to just homosexual-related issues). Each forum has a Statement of Purpose as one of the first (pinned) posts that includes specifics about what the forum is for.

Well, I will just be myself. I'll see what is allowed and what isn't as I go and then decide whether I want to be a part of this forum or not.

The Christians here will teach you many things, but said journey can be wild and confusing, and though some will, not everyone will reach out their hand to be your friend along the way.

If you ever need someone to talk to, you can comment on my profile. I am an Agnostic though - I value morality over the concept of a God these days.

I hope I'm allowed to tell you my view. I'm really not trying to discourage you from talking to the Christians as well.
