But the protest is in relation to the travel ban, right?

I honestly don't know. I wouldn't assume that because the issue long predates the travel ban.

Further, you can stop mischaracterising Muslims as a single homogeneous block of hive minded extremists just any time now.

I'm aware they're not a single homogeneous block, and I would classify them as extremists - they;re just being Muslims:

"Hive minded", on the other hand, is an excellent description of the nature of Islam. The essence of Islam is its multiplicity of rules, many of them quite arbitrary, that its followers are expected to obey without question. These rules govern even the most mundane aspects of everyday life. That is the very definition of a hive mind. That is the very reason for the undesirability of Muslim immigration into any non-Muslim society. It's not only, or even primarily about terrorism. It's that the whole point of Islam is not to adapt to life in a non-Muslim country. Islam's aim, rather is to assimilate other cultures to it, and we frequently do see Westerners asked to change the way they live for the sake of Muslim immigrants. Terrorism is just one aspect of a much more fundamental problem.

Muslims of a certain sect, from certain nations.
Several nationalities were represented in that group, but only one creed. This is a clue as which is the important factor.

Wow, have you ever even met a Muslim or had Muslim friends. They are not hivemind anymore than Christians. Many parts of Islam have a modernization problem. One that a "certain" other major religion just corrected not too long ago. But they are not some hivemind mass. If that were true, why is there so much infighting between sects? Why are there so many opinions on tradition vs modernizing? Why have the Muslims I've met in my life vary from super spooky to some of the friendliest people I've met?

Honestly the biggest systemic problem I see in Islam is how they treat apostates. Much of the time they strictly prohibit it instead of either trying to win the person back or simply shunning them.

Thank goodness Christianity doesn't require such obedience.

Actually, it's not -- but don't let that stop you.

It's almost as if someone told them to make disciples of all the other nations...

And we all know how dangerous creeds are...

Reminds me of that old urban legend... all we need now is the 911 operator telling Trump, "GET OUT OF THE WHITE HOUSE! THE CALLS ARE COMING FROM THE UPSTAIRS LINE!"

I thought it was funny. ^_^

It is -- Stephen King once said that, as a writer, he writes about the things that scare him. Seems that now that reality has outdone his work, he's gone in the other direction and gotten into comedy. :D
