Oh really? See posts #17, 28, and 42 on this thread. And that's just among the few folks who are posting here.
I thought you were refuting the story and not some posters?

I thought you'd want to know that it had been exploded as fake news before the thread went on any further, but anyway...
link to the details on the legislation:
H.J.Res.40 - 115th Congress (2017-2018): Providing for congressional disapproval under chapter 8 of title 5, United States Code, of the rule submitted by the Social Security Administration relating to Implementation of the NICS Improvement Amendments Act of 2007.

from the summary:
"The rule implements a plan to provide to the National Instant Criminal History Background Check System the name of an individual who meets certain criteria, including that benefit payments are made through a representative payee because the individual is determined to be mentally incapable of managing them. (Current law prohibits firearm sale or transfer to and purchase or possession by a person who has been adjudicated as a mental defective.)"

So your claim that this is fake news is simply untrue.
The bill certainly exists and was signed into law on Feb 28th (detail in the congressional record linked above).
The reporting on the bill may or may not be exaggerated and/or biased depending on the source but that does not make the story fake.

I did that earlier. Then I responded to this post:

I don't know that anyone is saying Trump got rid of the background check system or gave guns to the mentally ill.

I don't believe anyone suggests disarming the police and military.

The people are the last defense of a country.
A disarmed population is easy to control and easier to kill.
When life and death are measured in seconds, police are minutes away.

Back to the OP and why it is fake news.

"President Donald Trump quietly signed a bill into law Tuesday rolling back an Obama-era regulation"

Not a regulation, nor a law, but an EO.
One of the famous not-laws passed by Obama without Congress and outside his scope of authority.
He made two on gun control, in 2013 and 2016.
Hopefully the other is being targeted if it wasn't thrown out already.

Not a regulation, nor a law, but an EO.

Technically, it's considered a rule:

Federal Register :: Implementation of the NICS Improvement Amendments Act of 2007

And since one of the definitions of regulation is:

"A rule or directive made and maintained by an authority."

The sentence is correct as it it, the story isn't "fake news" in any capacity, and you're being disingenuous in attempting to say it is.

Funny thing is, we don't have shooting rampages around here. It's kinda hard to go on a shooting rampage when you don't have a gun...

what sort of reality distortion bubble are you living in.

8 years of Clinton and he didn't try to take your guns
8 years of Obama and he didn't try to take your guns

Contrary to popular GOP belief, Democrats also believe in the 2nd Amendment.

The difference is Dems don't believe in this Slippery Slope argument that "Any" regulations or rules imposed on guns equate to repealing the 2nd Amendment.

So I was doing some google fu and I came across this article and study which basically shows that the States with the MOST GUN LAWS have the fewest gun deaths per capita

Obama: More gun laws means fewer gun deaths

Here is the whole chart of all the States

So, at the end of the day, data is king.

As you have to live long enough to get to the doctor, yes. Priorities.

Who needs a doctor to silence the voices when you've got a gun?
