My name is David and I hail from South Africa. I am an Afrikaner/Boer.

Thank you all for the site.

I do not have a facebook account nor do have any other social media accounts. Most of the people I know do social media, I will never. I will, however, share some: I am in my early 30's. I run a small business from home and I study history as a main hobby, like to ride horse, hunt and fish.

I hope to be as honest and direct as I can.

I want to find out whether I understand the scripture correctly.

My family goes back over 300 years of farming here, and we are being exterminated. 4000 have been murdered and only 30 000 of us are left. There is a great injustice occurring in my country. Farm murders. If I fight to protect my family and as a matter of survival have to kill to protect them... will God forgive me?

Will he forgive me if I peruse the killers and hand onto them retribution?

If I beheld my people being slaughtered I would announce a time for war. How can you guys sit still while so many of your people are being slaughtered?

We are a minority with over 150 laws that directly discriminate against being white. You speak of war, that is inevitable, only that it will be black on black and we as fodder.

Our president sings songs in public with the words: "Kill the Boer (white man)". Google it.

I once belonged to the NG church (Dutch Reformed). A very conservative, Calvinistic church. I challenged my dominee as to why he will not call a spade. Why he does not even call for security sessions, or even inform his flock of the latest murders or how to be safe.
I suggested that we form neighbourhood/farm watches, the response was that I must keep quiet and know my place. Yet he presided over the funerals of people that attended church the Sunday before.

Dear sir, my country, the United States of America, started a war with the British simply because we did not like King George. In your case, it is much greater than that. You have a case in which your own people are being slaughtered. I would take this matter very seriously and let what supporters you have know that it is time to do something about it!

To protect your life and your family, I would say that it is okay to stop someone from harming you. If the only way to do that is killing (which I hope it is not) I am sure that God would forgive you.

No! Retribution and pursuit are NOT your job. Remember, the Bible says, "Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord." (Rom 12:19 KJV)

I do not lust for war, how can any sane person? My avatar are Boer soldiers (mere few farmers with no army) who fought the might of the Great British Empire, at their high water mark - and gave them hell!

I must confess that I hold my church in contempt. How dare they call themselves men of God! when their flock are being murdered. When they refuse to say anything negative about the the ANC regime. When, in fact, they are complicit in the murders.

If I live in a world where evil goes unpunished... and if there is a total breakdown of normal law and order...

In such a situation I will be forced to assume what I think God wants, I will punish the killers and rapists relentlessly.

Thank you all who have responded and thank you for your prayers.

I apologise for perhaps coming off as a bit harsh. I can assure you that I am not some crazed vigilante, nor have I ever sought conflict.
The reality of our situation in South Africa is far darker than I could ever articulate. When my phone rings I get a cold sweat anticipating news of another friend or family member that has been killed. We all have double security gates, alarms and private security armed with automatic weapons. Barbed wire on the fences like a prison. Things like taking a walk or going to a park is a long gone childhood memory. We are the protest capital of the world (google it) and by protests I mean thousands of machete yielding men, looting, burning and killing as they go. We have one bad one in our city every month or so. I have been attacked, stabbed and shot. I do not sleep anymore.

I never speak about the security or political situation in front of my wife. She has been through enough. I try to shield her and my daughter from it all.

As a father I cannot even begin to describe how I feel.

Treasure what you have and thank God for it.

I don't know how it is/feels to live in a normal and relatively safe country - like the US. You guys are truly blessed, truly!
