I'm still unsure as to why we can't, if we really insist on killing them, sedate them as if it were an operation so they won't feel anything and then inject them with something that causes rapid or instant organ failure.

I think that's to humane for some people.

Are you going to campaign for it?
I think he was just joking. It seems like some people want revenge for people on death role. And want them to die a horrible death. Instead of funding a more humane way.

The issues with this were discussed in the other thread about this story.

What about tying the guy to four horses and having them run in different directions?

Then PETA would be protesting

Why not just return to using the gallows?
Or how about rhe scratch pins certain military operatives carried.

Face it, there is no painless way to end a persons life.

Is that really the problem they have with it?

Or is it because there have been known cases where the injections haven't worked like they were supposed to, and the criminal wound up dying in extreme agony?

Which were the results of either non-professionals doing the procedure or the state not being able to use the stuff they used to; both of which is partially the result of pressure being put on by anti-Death Penalty crowd.

I would be very reluctant to ever hand out a death penalty if I were on a jury, but so long as the state carries it out, I think putting hurdles for them to carry it out humanely is cruel itself.

As I said in the other thread there is inert gas asphyxia.

I understand what you are saying, but unless you perform the procedure without the person knowing it is happening, there will always be physiological effects of being executed.

There is no painless way to take someone's life.

Electrocution last used in the US in Virginia in 2013. Firing squad was lost used in 2010 in Utah. And gas in 1999 in Arizona. And hanging in 1996 in Delaware.

All well after the advent on lethal injection. And electric chair, Gas chamber, and hanging are still choices for death row inmates in a few states (not all in the same states, but each in a couple states).

Personally, I am against the death penalty at all. But if they are gonna kill the person anyway...I don't really have a problem with firing squads or gas chambers or electrocution. Call me cruel, but it is what it is at that point.
