I did one year's study of classical guitar. Just two of the problems I encountered:
1) getting fingernails long enough 2) rest stroke
Fingernail length and shape are definitely a pain in the neck. Especially if the guitar being played isn't of the best quality. At this stage of the game I really don't care all that much anymore. So I don't strive to keep them meticulously trimmed. There is one classical guitar player who uses fake nails simply to avoid the hassle. I never did get the knack of rest strokes. Perhaps because I am self-taught and needed constant drilling in the fine nuances of their usage? But since I play for my own amusement that doesn't bother me at all as long as the piece sounds reasonably decent..
