I just witnessed the rising of the moon through the tree tops and the clouds. A large golden orb of lesser light. A beauty in the night sky. When it is rising through the trees it looks so large, and seems to travel so fast. Once it gets past the trees it seems to slow down considerably.
An other thing I have noticed lately is the evening star. It is a lot brighter than usual. Check it out and let me know if it is just my imagination.

What a lovely post MW!
I love looking at the night sky, and I have noticed a bright object, which I assumed was Venus. 
As I'm in the UK I suppose I will be looking at different things to you, but I was struck by the brightness of the object whatever it was.Seeing the stars and planets is something which makes me smile.

Two neighbours' cats in the garden, going in opposite directions, and both wary of the other. One cat would move a little way, and stop while cautiously observing the other, who would then move slightly in the direction in which he wanted to go.....and so on. It was like a game of chess, only more fun to watch!

Watching a squirrel running back and forth across my fence line as fast as he can. Not sure what he is doing, but he sure seems to be having a good time.
