2 Samuel 7:12-16. NIV
12 When your days are over and you rest with your ancestors, I will raise up your offspring to succeed you, your own flesh and blood, and I will establish his kingdom. 13 He is the one who will build a house for my Name, and I will establish the throne of his kingdom forever. 14 I will be his father, and he will be my son. When he does wrong, I will punish him with a rod wielded by men, with floggings inflicted by human hands. 15 But my love will never be taken away from him, as I took it away from Saul, whom I removed from before you. 16 Your house and your kingdom will endure forever before me; your throne will be established forever.’”

Samuel was talking about Solomon. The one who built the house for His name. Which he did- prophecy fulfilled. Of course you're free to opine that he was talking about Jesus or Bob Smith (Messianic Jew).

Already did. You're just ignoring it.
Is this the verse you are speaking of? “‘The Lord declares to you that the Lord himself will establish a house for you: 12 When your days are over and you rest with your ancestors, I will raise up your offspring to succeed you, your own flesh and blood, and I will establish his kingdom. 13 He is the one who will build a house for my Name, and I will establish the throne of his kingdom forever.

The problem is this notion of "prophecy". 2 Samuel 7 (and its partner text Tehillim/Psaslm 89) is a promise to David, ensuring the perpetuity of the Davidic throne—as opposed to the temporary nature of Saul's throne. Each generation of David's offspring operated under the terms of that covenant.

When we come to the Messianic Writings, the term "son of David" is presented as a credential, a fact, one requirement for anyone claiming to be the Messiah. "Son of David" is, in fact, the primary label used in the Talmud when discussing the expected Messiah.

But don't miss the fact that there were plenty of people around who could say they were "beit David" ("House of David"). They just didn't have the chutzpah to step up and claim the title, and the risk that went with it.
