I hear your heart 'rocknanchor'. I hear the Word of God. Let us 'keep on keeping on'. Let us keep on 'pressing on','pressing in'. Persevering, overcoming,'going through' in prayer and action. Amen! With a leg up on the matter (Elijah's nature), a secure focus is paramount.
Now you know this isn’t contrived of me. In everyday street-use vernacular, yes, pestering is more prone to be used in complaining rather than seeking. But the Lord did draw down on the latter,
Luke 18:5
“, , by continually coming she will wear me out.” (NASB)
“, , this widow keeps pestering me” (BSB)
“, , this woman is driving me crazy.” (NLT)
“, , this widow keeps bothering me,” (ISV)
“, , yet because she annoys me” (WNT)
And this is what I am saying we have gotten accustom to, we don’t treat our conversation with the Lord as did Mary and Martha. We tend to dry up the expectant reality of “If” with “don’t” use that mindset, ‘He is God and is able and all knowing, so don’t upset the cart, , etc’. Baloney, if I were there with Mary and Martha and not even related to Lazarus, I would also have pressed the same if I could.
She weary me - The word used here, in the original, is that which was employed to denote the wounds and bruises caused by "boxers," who beat each other, and blacken their eyes, and disable them., , Hence, it means any vexatious and troublesome importunity that takes the time, and disables from other employment. - Barnes
If I resist the pester seeking as it is written, then why should I hold out for much to happen?
