This reminds me of a debate that I had with a creationist elsewhere. He thought that it was damning when Schweitzer not only found soft tissue, but possible red blood cells as well and he told her "Now try to prove that they aren't red blood cells". In other words he wanted her to do what scientists are supposed to do, to try to find flaws in her work. He thought it meant that she was supposed to prove herself wrong and that she had failed if she couldn't.

A wise scientist will try to prove himself wrong because it is without a doubt that once he or she publishes that others will be trying to prove that scientist wrong.

I always find it amusing that creationists take the science that Schweitzer did to find the red blood cells as evidence of their YEC claims (red blood cells "can't last millions of years" ergo "young!") and then dismiss the science that she did (actual lab experiments) to explain how they were preserved by by the presence of iron. :)

It actually contains a direct quote from Jesus himself.

Hebrews 10:1 ¶ For the law having a shadow of good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with those sacrifices which they offered year by year continually make the comers thereunto perfect.
2 For then would they not have ceased to be offered? because that the worshippers once purged should have had no more conscience of sins.
3 But in those sacrifices there is a remembrance again made of sins every year.
4 For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins.
5 Wherefore when he cometh into the world, he saith, Sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not, but a body hast thou prepared me:
6 In burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin thou hast had no pleasure.
7 ¶ Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me,) to do thy will, O God.

8 Above when he said, Sacrifice and offering and burnt offerings and offering for sin thou wouldest not, neither hadst pleasure therein; which are offered by the law;
9 Then said he, Lo, I come to do thy will, O God. He taketh away the first, that he may establish the second.
10 By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.
11 And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins:
12 But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God;
13 From henceforth expecting till his enemies be made his footstool.
14 For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.
15 Whereof the Holy Ghost also is a witness to us: for after that he had said before,
16 This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them;
17 And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more.
18 Now where remission of these is, there is no more offering for sin.

No, it merely claims to be a quote. The author never spoke or talked to Jesus. In fact now Biblical scholars are fairly sure that Hebrews was not even written by Paul ( who only saw Jesus in "visions" at best).

Authorship of the Epistle to the Hebrews - Wikipedia

So your quote only showed the source of Strathos error.

Are you arguing that because Jesus didn't personally say those verses AV quoted, they don't matter?

You said that the claim came from Jesus when it clearly did not. A source pretending to be someone that never met Jesus is a very poor authority.

Biblical scholars can take a hike.

After Saul of Tarsus met Jesus on the road to Damascus and got saved, he went to Arabia & Damascus for three years and was personally tutored by God himself.

Galatians 1:15 But when it pleased God, who separated me from my mother's womb, and called me by his grace,
Galatians 1:16 To reveal his Son in me, that I might preach him among the heathen; immediately I conferred not with flesh and blood:

Galatians 1:17 Neither went I up to Jerusalem to them which were apostles before me; but I went into Arabia, and returned again unto Damascus.
Galatians 1:18 Then after three years I went up to Jerusalem to see Peter, and abode with him fifteen days.

Thank you for admitting that you were wrong.

No, he didn't. In case you forgot Jesus died before that happened.

Yes, the man was probably merely seeing things. That happens quite often with zealots it seems.

Biblical scholars can take a hike. .

The Pauline authorship of Hebrews was doubted even by the churchmen who decided to include it in the Canon--for its theological content, not its authorship.

When Jesus came, He did away with the Levitical priesthood.

This put the Levites out of a job, and they would have starved to death; since their main source of food was from the sacrifices.

Paul wrote the book of Hebrews anonymously to explain to the Hebrews that their priesthood is no longer in effect.

They had several years to make plans for retirement, but they refused to listen.

Then, in AD 70, it all came to an end.

You don't seem to know your history that well. The Jewish priesthood outlived Jesus. The "end" that you referred to was brought about by the Romans reacting to Jewish rebels.

No kidding!?

Jesus died in AD 33.

That gave the Levites 37 years to retire comfortably.

As the time approached, Paul took action and wrote the book of Hebrews anonymously (circa AD 64).

The book of Hebrews, a last attempt at "waking up" the Levites, compares Jesus Christ to the Levitical priesthood, and shows Him as the Way, the Truth, and the Life; just as the book of Romans compares Jesus Christ to the Law, and shows Him as the Way, the Truth, and the Life.

But alas, they still wouldn't listen ... and the rest, as they say, is history.

You do have to spin the facts to fit your strange beliefs. What you claim is not supported by either history or the Bible.

If he wrote the book anonymously, how do you know it was him?

Sorry, if that is all that you have then the differences show that it is merely a forgery. That is the easiest part to copy. Word usage tells us that Paul was not the author of Hebrews. You just shot yourself in the foot again.

I think I know why you've switched styles now.

It's to provoke me to post a certain verse, so as to get me in trouble.

But I'm not afraid ... so here goes:

You're a perfect example of why Jesus said:

Matthew 7:6 Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you.

So if you're going to try and get administration to "rend me," knock yourself out.

But you're an excellent example of this principle and why it was stated.

Excellent Sunday school material.

That's it??? That's all you've got is a commonly used phrase that appears both in Hebrews and in Paul's letters?
