Michael Moore: I Will Pay Faithless Electors' State Fines

It is still essentially a bribe, which to my knowledge is a crime.
No it is not a crime. It may be unethical in your opinion, but it is not a crime. A bribe would be giving money in advance of the act.

Donald Trump paid judgments against him in lawsuits from his foundation. that's illegal.

Bill Clinton had benefactors that paid the Paula Jones judgment, as I recall. I've known parents that paid fines incurred by their children. Neither of those are illegal.

Yes, he is.

He is not who he says he is. He's a "money grubbing charleton" as this article says and illustrates.
He is who he says he is, and he is not a hypocrite.

If you cannot articulate the reasons for calling him names, perhaps you aught not call him names.

Maybe we would take them more seriously if they were consistent in their attack against Michael Moore. If they think he should be prosecuted for offering to pay the fines of electors if they voted their conscience then Donald Trump should be prosecuted for inciting violence by telling his supporters he would pay their legal fees if they knocked the ____ out of some protesters.

I see this all the time from some people on the right. Somehow they think that Michael Moore should not receive what legally and rightly should be his because he already has a lot. And he is a hypocrite for asking for what he is entitled.

It seems more like a case of envy against Moore than an indictment against Moore.

Again, this is not about Trump..Please stay with the OP.
BTW,I never found anything about him actually paying those legal fees.

After all,he did offer to pay the legal fees for appointed Electors who changed their votes to change their votes..
Was there a crime committed?
If you don't think so,please explain why..
I kind of wonder if he would have offered the same to the Hillary defectors?

Yes.

He should.

(Wasn't he s'psed to be like moooooving, or something? Was he TEASING us about that?)

If so, he should be charged with that as well.

This is not about trump or Clinton.

Why did Trump get brought up in the first place(towards the first of the thread)?
I was just letting people know that I am non partisan in this..

not any different than corporations giving large sums of dough to candidates. Honestly, Moore is kind of a clown, I don't think too many take him seriously.

The name was brought up as a comparison to the hypothetical you posted. It was a very good comparison, BTW. I call yours a hypothetical because the OP presented no facts and actually misrepresented what Moore said. We could classify this thread as fake news.

Do you not keep up with the news outlets,or do you rely on this site for facts?
BTW,I later posted the link to the article...your objection is a moot point.
