No matter where people fall on this important and potentially divisive issue. I invite us all...in this thread, no matter what your thoughts, to join in prayer for the Church.

Let us pray in goodwill for the Pope, the Cardinals, the entire Magisterium and the Church in total. Please no backhanded comments or back and forth. But let us pray in unity for the will of God to be realized.

In addition let us pray that in a world of constant news, opinion and walls of sound and stress that the Lord give us that Holy silence in our interior lives so our hearts be at peace and ready as a home for the Lord. He who came to earth as a man and to search for a place to rest His infant head...let him find a place in our hearts. Let us, as a group, prepare our hearts for Him.

And for all of us who have stress and strife this year...may the Lord comfort you.

Advent, the time of waiting, is so critical to the understanding of Mary and Joseph. Let us seek to be like them in seeking and accepting the will of God.

Join here in prayer. And when you are in another thread and feel the urge to be critical of your brothers and sisters...on either side of the issue...come here and offer a prayer of love and joyful anticipation of He who is the only Answer.

I offer a picture. We were setting up a small prayer area apart from the home altar. I had finished with the manger set and put devotional materials for all ages on the little table. I went to throw something away in our kitchen and turned around to see this.

I invite you to join me and my family in prayer for the Church. And in barely restrained joy in the anticipation of the Light in our darkness. May Advent be a blessing and may even stress and strife be a bridge the one Hope that answers the call of hearts that desire peace.

I have been praying even before the synod began. Sometimes it's hard not to feel angry, but grace helps me to dispel it.
What I am more deeply understanding from this controversy is how Jesus must have felt as He was constantly challenged by the "lawyers" of His time. And we find that He responded harshly in some of the gospel accounts. Yet, He did not abandon His mission of teaching the crowds, even though it ultimately caused His death. His home town folks tried to hurl Him over the brow of the hill. How hurtful!

I am privileged, though in a very small way, to carry His cross and understand His heart better.

Retreat is not the answer for me in order to avoid controversy.

Thank you, David!

Please try to act charitable towards David as op and leave your arguments for one of the argumentative threads.

He made it quite clear in his op that he wanted this to be a PRAYER THREAD!

Please?!

Anyone with a right spirit would recognize that I confirmed my desire herein to continue praying, adding my deeper understanding of Jesus, Our Lord, in His trials. (the fruit of my prayer)
