It seems I heard someone who (as far as I could tell) equated Matthew 9:34 with Matthew 12:24 and Mark 3:22 But it doesn't seem like the same to me. I heard also that Matthew is accused of splitting characters and stories into two where there should be one, such as the two blind people Jesus healed in Matthew 9 and they say it should be one person who was the blind and dumb demoniac Jesus healed in Matthew 12 and Mark 3. My thing is, the blind men in Matthew 9 SPOKE, while the other passages seem to agree that the blind AND dumb demoniac was mute and could not speak (this was all before they were healed). Also, why would Matthew repeat the same story twice in different ways three chapters apart?

So many people were healed, there were not enough books for it to be contained at that time.
The ones YHWH inspired to write the Scripture , HIS WORD that
HE BREATHED in and thru them as HE GUARDED HIS WORD then and ever since then (always)
wrote as HE was pleased so to do. Even the translations , HE guards and watches over
so that anyone seeking YHWH'S KINGDOM
and anyone to whom HE opens their understanding
receives the knowledge of the TRUTH from YHWH HIMSELF
as HE PLANNED ALL ALONG.

Both Matthew and Luke seem to have had a copy of Mark and used it as a template when they wrote their accounts. For example, we know this because of the 664 verses in Mark, Matthew included 606 of them, in one way or another, into his gospel.

Okay, to clarify, I'm not asking if the passage of the healing of the blind and dumb man from Matthew and Mark (I don't know if the other gospels mention it) are the same, because they are parallel accounts of the same story, I'm asking if the healings in Mark 9 and Mark 12 are the same story repeated.

I recommend the book Why Are There Differences in the Gospels?: What We Can Learn from Ancient Biography by Michael Licona.
