Clearly.

I never said that things were perfect or good.

I said that things are improving, instead of getting worse.

If you want to improve the world, you have to look at the bigger picture instead of making mountains out of mole hills or only look at the bad stuff. Then, you can analyse what improved things, and then you can think about implementing those measures to improve things even more.

These things aren't mole hills.

We haven't made the advances we need to make in science and soon we will all be in our graves.

If you call that an improvement then enjoy your casket.

You sound like you are scared of dying. That would be a strange sentiment for a christian, I think.

Thanks, you too! :sorry:

Nothing strange about fearing death. Jesus feared it so much that he sweat great drops of blood.

If you've accepted death then that is your choice. I personally have chosen to reject it and I continue to hope that science will someday find a solution to this problem. Actually I continue to hope that someday I will be the person who finds the solution. Unfortunately things haven't went as planned and doors did not open so progress has been very slow.

Which is the crux of my misery and torment as everyday more people die and I myself am one step closer.

I always thought that jesus (in christian theology) already defeated death and that eternal life is already in the grasp of the saved.

That certainly gives some hope but in the meantime why not do everything we can to better ourselves.

God will certainly judge them better then those who voted for someone thats for worldly topics. Though let him who is without sin cast the first stone. ^_^

Hopefully Trump makes things better.

Trump doesn't seem to be particularly interested in advancing science or feeding the starving.

Hopefully he makes the economy better.

I'm not yet convinced that he is the solution to all the worlds problems.

After all the President is usually just a front man, most of the real powers work behind the scenes.

And by the way Christians are to be known by their good works.

This is from a bible passage that modern scholars think was added to the bible at a later date, jesus propably never said that.

Nothing strange about fearing death.

If you think that the Christian afterlife exists and you're confident in you salvation it is beyond strange.

I don't accept things getting worse. I want to make the world a better place.
If everyone came to accept the Lord Jesus Christ as their loerd and savior and tried to,live, for him this world would be a better place.

It's not because people follow their own evil desires. Remember the heart of man is exceedingly wicked. Children are not starving because there are rich, people in the world. They are starving because they live in countries controlled by exceedingly evil men who, control their poplace by fear, deceit, corruption and slavery. This world is an evil place because man are evil not because some, man are rich. There are just as many evil and, wicked poor people as there are rich people. Rich who refuse to help, and are greedy and treat people like chattel are abhorant. But not all rich are like that. Sorry I think I kind of rambled a bit there.

Bottom line, only Jesus can save a,wicked generation. If all turned to him this world would be a far better place.

It may have gotten better is a lot of ways but the world is still a very horrible place.

There are people smoking right across the street from where I live. When companies can profit from the poisoning of others that's not good.

You tell me the world is good but I see ugliness.

Less people smoke today than decades ago, which is a good thing.

Also, the rich hoarding the wealth, is a specific trend in certain countries, not all. In fact, this reality is one of the major reasons Bernie Sanders had more support than anticipated in the primaries and one of the reasons minorities didn't turn out as expected to vote for Clinton.

Just because people accept Jesus doesn't meant the world's problems suddenly go away. The Crusades were done by people who proclaimed themselves Christians, Hitler was raised Roman Catholic, and the "Jesus Camp" videos are horrible to watch and emotional child abuse.

Not to mention people as a whole seem good, but the media emphasizes the most dangerous parts. If we all really have a "sin nature", one would expect people in general to be a lot worse, as normal to humanity as walking on two legs or having certain brain structures.

Saying "the world would be far better if everyone accepted Jesus" is at best wishful thinking.

I disagree. Those people were not living for Jesus. Jesus never once proclaimed to kill, mame or torture in his, name. He told us to love our enemies, do good to them who spite us and be gentle to all men. No we will not have perfection until heaven. But if all people came to Christ the world would be a much better place. The crusades were not about Living for Jesus.

Hitler was,not about Living for Jesus.

Keep in mind in the Old Testament, God did ask to kill or maim in his name, and if Jesus is God, who is supposed to be the same forever, then that would not change. If Jesus is God, it would follow that he has God's same views. Though as the differences in our posts show, God in the Old Testament and Jesus in the New have different views in that regard.

Those calling for the whole world to unite under their religion and stating that the world would be better if this only happened have to realise that all other religions advertise much in the same way.

Also, which version of christianity are you talking about?
