I am in need of advice. How do I overcome doubt? I have been having issues with doubting about a major issue for a while now and that is why I feel like my prayer life is suffering because of my doubts. I especially have doubts that God will help me with my financial problems. Maybe I am praying about this all along plus having doubts doesn't help as well.

What do you believe about God? You talk about having doubts - I think pretty much everyone can identify with that - but now take your focus off yourself and focus on what you believe about God.
Do you believe God has integrity?
Do you believe God will keep his promises?
What does he promise about providing?
The OT speaks of Jehovah Jireh, God is a Provider. Do you believe this is part of his character?
Do you believe he provides for the birds, the flowers? Then do you think he will not provide for you?

Lik3, Ask the Lord what He wants to do in your life through this experience...and learn what lessons He wants to teach you through the experience. Most importantly ask God to help your unbelief.
“Show me your ways, O Lord, teach me your paths”
Psalm 25:4.

There be a time when I suffered through a crushing load of debt, I hated it! But it was my own fault that I was so head over heels in debt. I ended up selling off everything I could and ended up sleeping on a pallet of blankets/comforters, I had a chair, a hot-plate and a friend gave me a small TV. I had lived beyond my means an when things went down, I lost a lot! I scrounged for whatever type of work I could get and found work in my own neighborhood which was a good thing because I didn't have a car any more. All I could see then was the bad, it was another person from church who helped me to see that God was still with me and was teaching me not only to trust Him but He was teaching me how to be a good steward of the money I earned, revealing much to me about my "love of money"(something I had a problem with but wasn't willing to admit it at the time) and He was teaching me how to select better friends, learning to budget etc.

If you think of doubt as from a lack of faith, then recognize that faith is a gift from God. Jesus responded to an exclamation/request by the apostles to increase their faith by telling them to just do what they were supposed to be doing (with humility) (Luke 17:4-10).

Fundamentally, God increases your faith as you walk with him. Abide in Christ. Be strictly obedient. Our choice to be obedient is not to be right with God, it is so that we experience sanctification—a greater experience of oneness with Jesus. It's all summarized with loving the Lord with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength.

This is really quite a serious, if not zealous, devotion to Jesus. It permeates everything you think, say, and do. It guides all your choices, and ... it is incredibly difficult, if not impossible, to do it all successfully in the short term. The difficulty (or failure) leads you back to Jesus for help and forgiveness, but you do not stop the seriousness with which you take your devotion to Jesus. When applicable, believe what Jesus said as true and hold onto the faith that you already have and don't do things that can harm it (but be open to and seek increased understanding of God, which "updates" your faith along the way).

Read the Word of God more often, because it has the ability, to build your faith in God. We need to renew our minds, with the Word of God, and start thinking the thoughts of God, for our daily lives.

God loves you so much, is good, and the Bible says he cares for us, so, how can He not help you with money!? His love and care for you, makes it nearly impossible for him, to refuse your prayer, and not answer it!

Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, "Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you." - Hebrews 13:5

God will never leave nor forsake you. That is powerful, remember that whenever you are uneasy. Remember Jesus' teaching on prayer:

And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words. Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him.
This, then, is how you should pray:
“Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name,
your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us today our daily bread.
And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one." - Matthew 6:7-13

Meditate on each stanza. God is our Father in Heaven. His name is holy. He can see my situation and my need, and I can trust him with it. His kingdom is good, his will is good, so I ask for it to happen here and now.

Following this model, remember what Paul taught:

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. - Philippians 4:6-7

This is the "Give us today our daily bread" part, it follows having remembered God's character, might, and will. Thank him for the blessings he has given you, and present your requests to him. Building these into your prayer life will usher in peace.

Oh ye of little faith, why do you doubt?
When Jesus needed money to pay the tribute and he didnt have any Peter caught a fish with money in it.

GOd provides us with what we need, not necessarily what we want. Spearate out your wants and needs, doing a budget helps and you can see where you spending money unnecessarily. Keep a record of what you spend for a month. If you not already doing that.
