Donald Trump just blew up the electoral map | Washington Post

Donald Trump is the president-elect of the United States of America, and he did it by completely blowing up the electoral map and all of our projections and expectations of it.
...
All of this disproves the idea, which we and everyone else have espoused early and often, that Trump's path to victory was narrow. It wasn't. It was broad. We were wrong. The polls were wrong. We fundamentally misunderstood this election.
...
Trump won all of his “must-win” states, anyway, and then added some states that we barely gave him a chance in, proving that everything we thought we knew about the polls and the electoral map was wrong. Wrong, wrong wrong
.

Now, if they would just apply that same logic to the rest of their political analysis and reporting.

I don't know why US citizens are surprised at what the rest of the world was betting would happen. It's like the hippies overturning the McArthur agenda rising up to overthrow the oppressive upperclass once again. All they needed was a uniting force. Too bad it had to be the Donald.

Did he? None of the results I have found show him leading the popular vote.
At least, when I went to bed this morning at roughly 1:30 he was leading by a think a percentage point, but neither main party had more half or better due to third parties.

You missed the full counting of the California vote then. California is a big place that overwhelmingly goes blue. She's up right now from what I can see.

They went blue but despite 55 EV it was not enough.

All projections start with the Democrats getting NY and CA and the Republicans getting Texas. Hardly even factor into the election at some level.
Probably because he DID win pretty much all of the other big ticket states Fl, PA, OH, I believe Mich I KNOW GA ( both of the latter of 16 EVs and of course Texas. I believe he also won AZ with 11 though I am not sure it has officially been called.

What are you getting at? CA, NY, and TX are never at play (at least not anytime soon). So in any projection, they're just given to that side. I'm not disagreeing with you. I said that she looks like she's going to win the popular vote. You want to fight about that?

No, I stated the reason that she probably lost the EC is because most of the other big ticket states ( Those with quite a few EVs that were in question went to Trump. Such as PA, OH,GA, and FLA.

Right there^.

They were wrong because they believed their own 'press.'

Well let's face facts. Almost all the pollsters and the pundits DELIBERATELY DISTORTED reality even when it was clear that Trump was leading all the time. He says "We were wrong" instead of saying "We were RIGGING everything". As Trump already pointed out, the MSM have become despicable.
