Judged because of modesty

Peace be upon you guys!
So today, on my way to church, there were a couple of men aged between 35-50 years old. They shouted at me saying these exact words: "Hey you, get rid of those long shirts or you will never get married. What kind of style is that.........etc". I didn't hear the rest simply because I didn't want to. But I was hurt. What I was wearing was a faux leather jacket and black jeans and I literally just tied a shirt around my waist so it covered my backside. And what did that comment even mean? That I had to walk naked around in order to get married? I try to be more modest in a more "modern" way because currently I live somewhere where people are unfortunatelly not really caring for modesty. I don't want to stop dressing this way, but I need your opinion regarding this subject and if you would also think the same thing these men thought when they saw me?

They said they things they thought would affect you - looks like they guessed right. Well, prove them wrong, stay strong. After all, would you really want to be married to someone like one of them? Bleah!

you don't have to stoop to their standards of 'beauty'. I'm going to put aside the idea of getting married because the issue here seems to be their warped perspective + perversion + lust and modesty.
Because you don't have to change your style of fashion in order to get a mate. The right mate would accept you as you are and realize the beauty of your modesty that you fearlessly and boldly show especially since you mentioned that modesty in your area seems rare.
I myself dress modestly. Classy/modern yet modest. I think modesty is absolutely stunning and gorgeous and you'll attract the right type of guys with modesty who respect you and your body. Whilst dressing immodestly, tends to attract the wrong type of guys who don't respect you or your body. Those types of comments are what I would classify as 'radical, insane, and immature' comments that you don't need to dwell on any longer because those types of comments are just ridiculous. Thankfully, not everyone thinks like that and certainly not every man in that age range thinks like that. Keep on shining as a role model for others in how to look classy and beautiful whilst respecting your body through modesty.

Agree with all that as been said. Don't worry about them. I know how bad you can feel, but they are the ones who have an innapropriate attitude. And actually its probably in the other way: youll find the right guy for you and get married because of it. Besides, who are they to give their opinion on that ? do they know you, do they know if you even want to get married ? those type of guys irritates me a lot, not listening to them was the good way to react. I would have done the same. Don't take their remarks to heart, their is nothing good nor holy in their words. I pity them actually..

These men are dogs who harassed you. Do not let their opinion change you. I admire women who adhere to modesty, it is becoming more rare these days, not to mention skirts look wonderful on women. There is nothing more traditionally feminine then this, which is very attractive in a modest way.

Keep with your own style, be yourself and keep believing what you feel is right.

They're a dime a dozen, and many Atheist bring their kids up better than that, and at the same time there are probably Church goers that would do the same as them. Just bad manners and the same thing that happens when some dogs pack up, they get into mischief.
