around here we often have leaves on trees till mid february. leaves are falling off some trees while others they are barely turning. I wish they would all go ahead and get it over with so I can rake them all up and not have to deal with my lawn covered with them and when it rains tracking wet leaves inside.

I grew up with only 4 tv channels for half my childhood them a fifth uhf channel and during the soap opera time of day I watched a lot of sesame street on the small black and white tv we had. We had 2 tv sets one 25 inch color and the other a 13 inch black and white set. around age 12 I think we got a small portable tv set that could operate off a 12v source that had a car cord.
Needless to say we played a lot of board (bored) games and cards and outside activities as tv pretty much sucked until we got cable in my mid to late teens then we had 26 channels or so and we still played some board games and cards and outside sports a lot.
Today's kids have video games and tons of channels and internet so board games are probably boring to them and playing outside less fun.

I love digital indoor/outdoor remote thermometers as you can watch the temps go up and down by 0.1 degrees at a time.

Yes! Someone can relate to me! Haha!

Yes the thrill of simple things. I remember when stereos and tv sets didn't have remote controls on them and cable boxes were corded and push buttons and a switch to change banks of stuff and pinball was the electronic game there was.

last of the warmer days for awhile it looks like.... sneaking up to close to 80 for the last time in the forecast ahead then highs dropping to the high 60s in the week ahead. Looks like fall finally broke through we shall see how winter works out as I've seen this summer to winter transition be rather abrupt too often around here instead of gradual.

same here. no more summer for us, only 50's and 60's for highs.
