So you're saying that you're willing to trust them without question or personal investigation?
Lets put it this way. When I go to get my car fixed and the mechanic tells me the battery is dead, as do twenty other mechanics that I ask, and if I do a brief search on the symptoms of my car and see articles written by respected mechanics describing the exact issue as a bad battery. I am not going to:

A.) Start doing detailed studies on how cars work to make sure every mechanic isn't lying to me.
or.
B.) Listen to my dentist when he tells me I just need to replace my blinker fluid.

Vaccines are well researched. You can look up studies as you wish to see their efficacy. And if you think vaccines make a lot of money, you are fooling yourself. There's little profit in vaccines. There's not much money to make on something that costs a lot to develop and is only administered to a person a couple times in their lives.

The view of the CDC in regards to vaccines are the prevailing views but they are not uncontested and they are not the only views. There are other experts - medical MDs and research PhDs - that have different views. It's doctors and scientists vs doctors and scientists on this issue - not doctors vs shamans or some such.

Shouldn't Americans have the right to weigh the evidence and consider the views for themselves?

Short of a worldwide flu epidemic, like about 100 years ago, I would say that the government has no right to force the flu shot vaccination. I suppose that in times of extreme health emergencies, they might have such a right. Maybe?

Why do you think the media cries possible pandemic any time
someone sneezes? They are pushing for total government control
of everything, including our health.

And those doctors are usually quacks. You can find anyone in any given field that will deny prevailing view. What counts is actual evidence, and the "vaccines are bad" people are sorely lacking in that department. The dangers of your standard vaccines are incredibly low (like everything, there exists SOME level of danger). It's pretty well understood stuff.

Shouldn't Americans have the right to weigh the evidence and consider the views for themselves?
It's pretty clear to me given what we know about vaccines and what certain people think about them - many people are not capable of weighing the evidence and making a rational decision. Despite study after study after study showing no link between autism and the mmr vaccine, there's still a sizable number of otherwise educated people who think there is such a link.

It's insanity. Vaccines are one of our greatest achievements, and has become a victim of its own success. We don't remember what life was like when measles was commonplace; so we focus on the (well understood) small chance of experiencing a negative outcome rather than seeing the benefit.

Yes. But don't be surprised when you're not allowed in civic spaces because of it. You have to choose: flea shots or dog house.

Mandatory vaccination would be bad for America for several reasons.
  1. It's government overreach. Parents should have the freedom to make this decision for themselves.
  2. Vaccines as they are now are designed to maximize profits for pharmaceutical companies more than they're designed to help people.
  3. This is a slippery slope. If we let the government mandate this kind of care then what else will we let them require?
Your thoughts?
Thoughts? Big government can only grow bigger when parents autonomy is substantially marginalized.

My thoughts? Good. Vaccinate everyone.

"If God had decreed from all eternity that a certain person should die of smallpox, it would be a frightful sin to avoid and annul that decree by the trick of vaccination." --- Timothy Dwight, Congregationalist minister and President of Yale University from 1795 to 1817.

Lest there be any misunderstanding, yes! vaccinate all who have no good medical reason to decline.

So what's the endgame here? You believe that the government wants to control our health. How? What would be different for us?

What does the state do that you disagree with ?
Prosecutes people for 'offensive' speech online. Prohibits assisted suicide. Wants to control areas of the internet. Doesn't implement rent controls on properties. We don't have a PR electoral system. Unelected upper chamber. NHS is underfunded and progressively gutted. Education system needs improving. Doesn't let 16 year olds vote.

So you personally support vaccination. Do you support legislation that would impose your views on all citizens?

In case I didn't make it clear --- YES.

Avoiding vaccination can endanger the lives of those who have valid medical reasons not to vaccinate. Research "herd immunity" for more information.
