Its 1am and cant sleep... I just keep fearing ill go crazy and lose it... I just want peace...
I hate feeling like I'm on edge everyday....
I'd much rather have a physical disability than deal with this.
Sorry to hear about how you are feeling. I too have been hit with those types of waves on and off but everytime they come I know it's a new opportunity to either turn it over to God OR give into the fear which is what the devil wants. God wants us to trust Him knowing that He is in control. See, you ARE NOT going crazy or losing your mind! If your trust is in Him, He won't allow that because he cares for you, loves you and protects you (1 Peter 5:7, Psalms 62:5-8). Try to remember that it is only your anxiety. I have more of an understanding now and encourage you to pray for wisdom and strength to understand as well that, anxiety, for the most part, is more of a control issue. We want to be in control of everything, thus we worry. That's why when we have these panic attacks, our immediate reaction is to get the heck out of it as fast as possible (fight or flight) because we're trying to control it. Gods Word however, teaches us not to worry, not to fight it or even worse run from it but to be still and wait on the Lord, giving control to Him because the reality is, He is in control of our lives! We should face it, knowing that we are not alone when doing so but we are with Jesus and Jesus is with us when we are going through it or anything for that matter.
Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.
Psalms 46:10 KJV
Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord.
Psalms 27:14 KJV
Let me share this with you, just because you feel afraid or feel sad, doesn't mean you have TO BE those emotions. We have a choice, every morning that God blesses us with a new day, to choose to be joyful/grateful or worried/sad. Just smiling through your day praising God every moment you can, will start to allow the Spirit to work in you again and your emotions will eventually begin to follow how you act. If you feel worried and spend your day walking around worried then your emotions will follow because you have decided to carry yourself around being worried, focusing more on yourself and less on God. I know it's easier said then done but I know exactly how you feel because I've been there, felt those things, and I'm still GROWING through them! But for every wave that comes, there's a moment of silence which follows, a moment of calm, a peace which surpasses all understanding, and that is God!
And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
Philippians 4:7 KJV
I'll pray for you Sister and hope you spend some time with God today in His Word!
When thou liest down, thou shalt not be afraid: yea, thou shalt lie down, and thy sleep shall be sweet. Be not afraid of sudden fear, neither of the desolation of the wicked, when it cometh. For the Lord shall be thy confidence, and shall keep thy foot from being taken.
Proverbs 3:24-26 KJV
