Is it evil to notice that the Bible does not want us to eat poison or toxic food?

Romans 11

11 I say then, Have they stumbled that they should fall? God forbid: but rather through their fall salvation is come unto the Gentiles, for to provoke them to jealousy.
12 Now if the fall of them be the riches of the world, and the diminishing of them the riches of the Gentiles; how much more their fulness?
13 For I speak to you Gentiles, inasmuch as I am the apostle of the Gentiles, I magnify mine office:
14 If by any means I may provoke to emulation them which are my flesh, and might save some of them.
15 For if the casting away of them be the reconciling of the world, what shall the receiving of them be, but life from the dead?
16 For if the firstfruit be holy, the lump is also holy: and if the root be holy, so are the branches.
17 And if some of the branches be broken off, and thou, being a wild olive tree, wert grafted in among them, and with them partakest of the root and fatness of the olive tree;
18 Boast not against the branches. But if thou boast, thou bearest not the root, but the root thee.
19 Thou wilt say then, The branches were broken off, that I might be grafted in.
20 Well; because of unbelief they were broken off, and thou standest by faith. Be not highminded, but fear:
21 For if God spared not the natural branches, take heed lest he also spare not thee.
22 Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off.
23 And they also, if they abide not still in unbelief, shall be grafted in: for God is able to graft them in again.

Rom 2
4 Or do you think lightly of the riches of His kindness and tolerance and patience, not knowing that the kindness of God leads you to repentance? 5 But because of your stubbornness and unrepentant heart you are storing up wrath for yourself in the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God, 6 who will render to each person according to his deeds: 7 to those who by perseverance in doing good seek for glory and honor and immortality, eternal life; 8 but to those who are selfishly ambitious and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, wrath and indignation. 9 There will be tribulation and distress for every soul of man who does evil, of the Jew first and also of the Greek, 10 but glory and honor and peace to everyone who does good, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. 11 For there is no partiality with God.

12 For all who have sinned without the Law will also perish without the Law, and all who have sinned under the Law will be judged by the Law; 13 for it is not the hearers of the Law who are just before God, but the doers of the Law will be justified. 14 For when Gentiles who do not have the Law do instinctively the things of the Law, these, not having the Law, are a law to themselves, 15 in that they show the work of the Law written in their hearts, their conscience bearing witness and their thoughts alternately accusing or else defending them, 16 on the day when, according to my gospel, God will judge the secrets of men through Christ Jesus.

...

25 For indeed circumcision is of value if you practice the Law; but if you are a transgressor of the Law, your circumcision has become uncircumcision. 26 So if the uncircumcised man keeps the requirements of the Law, will not his uncircumcision be regarded as circumcision? 27 And he who is physically uncircumcised, if he keeps the Law, will he not judge you who though having the letter of the Law and circumcision are a transgressor of the Law? 28 For he is not a Jew who is one outwardly, nor is circumcision that which is outward in the flesh. 29 But he is a Jew who is one inwardly; and circumcision is that which is of the heart, by the Spirit, not by the letter; and his praise is not from men, but from God.

Hello Bob.
You quoted from Romans 11 above, did you read it properly?

Thanks for noticing that I quoted Romans 11.

And yes - I did read it properly.

'because of unbelief they were broken off' -- but God is able to "graft them in AGAIN" if they do not continue in unbelief

And the next statement.

'and thou standest only by your faith' is followed by "fear: 21 For if God spared not the natural branches, take heed lest he also spare not thee. 22 Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off."

The details were highlighted... still you ignored these Bible details??

Hello Bob.

Thanks for the reply.

Bob, I am not sure what your thinking when you read these verses?

Israel can be grafted back in if Israel believes, yes Bob.

Paul states clearly in Romans that he is a believing Jew and so also are the Apostles and all those in Acts 15 Jerusalem church leaders etc.

Timothy was saved as a child according to Paul - before becoming a Christian.

Moses and Elijah stand WITH Christ in Matt 17 - before the cross - in glorified form.

Hebrews 11 is filled with examples of pre-cross saved Jews.

The Bible doctrine then (as you and I surely agree) is not that all Jews before the cross were lost - as we can all see plainly.

But those Jews living at the time of Christ were confronted as was Peter in Matt 16 with the "new truth" about Jesus of Nazareth. Even to those Jesus said "blessed are you - for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you - but My Father who is in heaven"

When Peter rejects that gospel - Jesus said to him "get thee behind me Satan" in Matt 16.

Obviously Peter then turns back again - and chooses belief and accepance.

Now for the next line.

if thou continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off

This is a statement to individual gentiles - who believe, who stand by their faith alone - who are to persevere in that position according to Romans 11 and are to fear lest they abandon their position of faith.

You and I surely agree that the Bible never claims that pagans are standing by faith and are to persevere in their pagan belief.

It is NOT a statement that all pagan Romans are saved and should persevere in being unsaved.

Obviously.

if the statement were that all Jews - no matter saved or not saved - but as a nation as a group are lost - then Paul was lost. We do not help an argument by making nonsense of it. You need a consistent argument.

in Christ,

Bob

There's no law against eating meat, if you choose to live that way no harm done, but if you advocate it as a binding on everyone you are guilty of adding to the law (Deuteronomy 4:2, Deuteronomy 12:32, Proverbs 30:6).
Leviticus 11:3 Whatsoever parteth the hoof, and is clovenfooted, and cheweth the cud, among the beasts, that shall ye eat.
Leviticus 11:9 These shall ye eat of all that are in the waters: whatsoever hath fins and scales in the waters, in the seas, and in the rivers, them shall ye eat.
Deuteronomy 14:11 Of all clean birds ye shall eat.
Deuteronomy 14:20 But of all clean fowls ye may eat.

Jesus ate meat.
Luke 24:42 And they gave him a piece of a broiled fish, and of an honeycomb.
Luke 24:43 And he took it, and did eat before them.
