Rom 10:17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God
Study, listen to good teaching tapes, spend time worshiping the Lord, talk to Him, build that personal relationship, the more you love Him, the more you trust Him.

Hello brother,
For me, I think watching this particular video has been inspiring and helpful. I've watched it countless times to be honest. It's not boring and it keeps you engaged. I think his passion and the fact that he's around our age group helps us to relate more to him. Anyway, really hope you give this video a chance. I've fast-forward it for you so it should start somewhere at around 52:17. I may watch this again tomorrow, God willing. It's that good : )

I am now on the thin line of christian and agnostic, i have tried asking the questions that have perplexed me but the no answers have been so diverse and conflicting, they gave me no aid.
So please tell, me what do you to do strengthen one's faith in God

Faith is about trusting God, so you grow in your faith by acting in a way that demonstrates that you trust God about how you should live. You can also grow in your faith observing how God has shown Himself to be trustworthy in the lives of others through listening to the testimonies of others. However, if you are bordering between a Christian and an agnostic, then it appears to me that your issue isn't about trusting God to keep His promises, but about wondering whether God exists. In that case, you can strengthen your belief in the existence of God by looking at the evidence for Christianity, such as at the historicity of the resurrection of Jesus. However, it is difficult to try to answer the questions that you've tried asking without knowing what those questions are.

For me it came when I started reading and meditating on the Word, and praying everyday. I wanted to know God badly, my heart was really seeking. I used to ask the Holy Spirit to help me understand the Word and to imprint His truths in my heart and soul like a tatoo, so that it would change my thoughts, my behaviour and character. It was in that mode that the Holy Spirit really moved in my life as never before and the Word just became alive. It healed me and I would say it was just supernatural, meaning it wasn't any of my doing, except for just sitting there and seeking with all my heart. I remember being able to memorize scripture passages that I never even consciously set out to memorize, they just flowed out of my mouth, and I remember how each one's meaning was felt so deep and personal in my spirit. My faith as a result began to grow and I started to trust Him more, and I can honestly say again it was from Him. I think it's like any other relationship. As human beings we dont normally trust any stranger on the street, or any co-worker we meet, but we trust through relationship. Whether it's your mommy or daddy or whomever that you have been close to, and have been nutured, protected and cared and loved for, they have earned your trust. You KNOW them intimately. And so it is with the Father.. If you dont spend time with him, then you can never get to know Him, and He cant fully show Himself to you, and therefore you wont have any basis to trust Him. Maybe on a superficial level, a baby Christian's level, since you acknowledged and asked Him to be saved, but it will never grow from there if you dont seek Him regularly with all your heart and soul. Saying all that I have fallen away since that amazing time I have described to you. I am still a believer and love the Lord, and still pray and read the Word, but much less than I did at that time. and much less frequency. My prayers are less as well, and because of that my faith is not way as strong as it was. This has saddened me for many months now. The world, life, and the internet/ social media which is so stimulating, entertaining and addicting.. it can all draw us away from our precious time with the Lord. Anyways, I am somewhat am appreciative of my experiences, of this experience because it demonstrates to me without a shadow of a doubt that this is not some secret or hard to find key.. It's just very simple..

p.s. I think something else that is very important is to sit before the Father in all my brokenness without any agenda, without any questions. Just being there submitting to Him without wanting something, except to only worship Him and be with Him. spending time with Him. LIke a good friend would do. Can you imagine if we knew a friend would only come to us if they wanted something from us ? I think that is also what I found and understood. Wherein came the answers..

Believe the gospel. Thats the first step.
I would sit down and read the gospels and just ask God to speak to me through the story of Jesus.

I was once agnostic, and before I could know God and all he had for me I had to go through Jesus, his son. If you know the gospels and still haven't come to any idea of who God is start from Genesis, sometimes its just good to start from the very beginning.

Short answer: be obedient.

The apostles said to the Lord, “Increase our faith!” ... “Suppose one of you had a servant plowing or looking after the sheep. Would he say to the servant when he comes in from the field, ‘Come along now and sit down to eat’? Would he not rather say, ‘Prepare my supper, get yourself ready and wait on me while I eat and drink; after that you may eat and drink’? Would he thank the servant because he did what he was told to do? So you also, when you have done everything you were told to do, should say, ‘We are unworthy servants; we have only done our duty.’ ” (Luke 17:5,7-10, 1984 NIV)

God's word does not change; science is constantly adjusting itself to correct it's own errors, but God's word is constant. focus on God's word - what He says in His word is the foundation of faith (belief) in Him, and as you study His unchanging word, the effectiveness of your faith will increase.

"Trust and obey" is an old song my mother used to sing. But it is true, it says, "trust and obey for there is no other way to be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey". Doubts generally come to us when we are not living a life of obedience. There is an attitude that some people get and it is one of not being sober in mind, not fearing God, or hell. It allows for a sloppy life. God needs us to be actively fearing Him.

Prayer first - makes reading/studying and understanding your Bible profitable. God's Word is the ultimate - and most basic source of truth. I have found another book: I Don't Have Enough Faith To Be An Atheist, by Normal Geisler and Frank Turek, to be very helpful and fascinating. It has been described as a one-stop source to explain the (biblical) ideas and unveil the truth about everything from Genesis Creation - through the Gospels and the Happy Ending. After reading it myself, I have to agree it's a winner, and I've shared it with others. Blessings,

"He (Jesus) must increase, but I must decrease." John 3:30
http://www.desiringgod.org/articles/he-must-increase-but-i-must-decrease

Just as it was with John the Baptist, so is it with each of us. Our faith in Christ increases as our faith in ourselves as individuals decreases. The life journey of faith is a continuous process layered with refining & defining moments.

I agree that reading and studying scripture strengthens faith. While studying scripture is important, in my life I have found it less important to nurturing my faith than having a daily prayer ritual and engaging in corporate worship. Daily. Ritual. Prayer. By that, I mean getting in the habit of setting aside the same time(s) every day for prayer in some manner. I like the morning, as it sets my heart and mind in the right place for the day ahead. We can follow the example of our Lord who often went into the wilderness to pray.

"Oh mercy child...!!"

By simply communing with GOD through his son lord JESUS CHRIST and being patient and most importantly listening to the wisdom that they impart upon us and with us.

Daily devotionals and prayer are a must as is scriptural readings and preaching the word of GOD the heavenly father and principles of his son JESUS CHRIST to others is mandatory. This also includes resisting temptations and the devil so he will flee from you. Love at the heart of it all is the structure of our faith and you need to bind it to your heart.

The perfect model is....if we truly love one another including ourselves; we will NOT harm one another and ourselves, and therefore follow the commands from GOD and JESUS CHRIST.

Praise be to GOD the heavenly father and his son lord JESUS CHRIST forever>>>>>>>>>>>>>
