Really a simple question but one I find quite fascinating. I've heard so many theories from them (Nephilim) being the leftover descendants of the unions between the daughters of men and the fallen angels ( though I associate these as giants according to the Bible) to Cain's descendants or even some other cursed tribe such as the Edomites. Why is it that tiny amounts of a Neanderthal appear in most European and Asian populations genetics? Is it possible that God purposely caused them to be bred out by our early Homo Sapien ancestors who migrated to Europe? Every time I ask these questions to other Christians they seem uncomfortable talking about this mystery. Tell me what you guys think or know from a Biblical point of view?

They don't fit into the Biblical narrative. They were just a branch of humans that died out. The Denisovans are another extinct species of humans, and their genetic relics can be found in Australian Aborigines.

The last Neandertals and Denisovians became extinct some 35000 years ago but their genes do persist in our DNA. There is no way the biblical authors could have been aware of any of this.

Its not the authors, it was God that gave it to Moses to write. Moses wrote the first five books, remember?

That is what legend tells us. Biblical scholarship has determined differently.

Homo sapiens mixed with them on their gradual migration out of Africa. Therefore, everyone besides Africans have some Neanderthal DNA (which is rather ironic, looking at historical views of the races).

@Redbeard76 - Neanderthal like people are found in older narratives like in Hinduism ... but it is argued that they weren't Neanderthals, no evidence exists of the people with monkey like characteristics because they have been burning their dead (people and animals) for millennia. The stories of these men with monkey like characteristcs (Vanaras) pre-date biblical times and kind of resemble prominent people from their mythologies.

The Neanderthals of Europe were cannibals in the end, but are dated prior to biblical times.

The bible only focuses on the fertile crescent area of the world after the flood, but every culture has it's own flood story.

It is possible that Neanderthals as Antediluvians, could be the origin of the vampire myths in Europe, which usually mixes with the Nephilim in story dynamic.
