Nothing new to report. I just wanted to show y'all the difference a year makes... this is a side-by-side of Kelly & Finn just before Shark Week last year, when he was the sickest he'd ever been, and now, taken last week at a waterpark:

:prayer:
Finn is very closely flirting with an ER visit. His breathing went downhill very quickly this evening. His normal rate is 85% and he is currently at 75% and struggling just to get that. Daddy and Mommy are taking shifts rocking him while he sleeps so that he get get rest, breathe easier and we can monitor him. We all know how much Finn likes to visit UVA during holidays but trying to break the streak on this one!!!

X-ray + steroids + breathing treatments = Finn's back home :)
The second breathing treatment in combination with everything else and being jacked up on steroids did the trick! Finn caught a virus and he got something called stridor which he has had before. His oxygen went back up to 80ish and we were monitored for a while to make sure it stayed there and it did. We ACTUALLY were released from our local hospital for the first time ever and were able to come home. We have to heavily monitor Finn's breathing and oxygen level though because we were reminded that this can come back very quickly while he still has the virus in his system.

Although we may return to the local ER in the next day or so, this was a huge step for Finn. We have never been to the ER without needing to be transferred to UVA but this time was a little special. He had no other symptoms other than the stridor and lower oxygen because of it. He didn't have a high fever or high heart rate and he wasn't close to requiring oxygen. If we hadn't of taken him though, he wouldn't have gone downhill fast and needed to be ambulanced to UVA ASAP. We are so blessed (and cursed I suppose) that Finn has been sick enough times that we know his exact 'signs' for 'it's time to go to the ER' or 'I'm ok I can ride it out'.

As always, we want to thank our local ER Mary Washington Hospital for being so compassionate and working WITH us as a team to do what's best for Finn. We are so lucky to have a place locally that takes all of his elements into consideration very carefully.

Hopefully, the stridor does not come back as we will be transported to UVA but so far, Finn's labor of breathing has been very minimal.

Finn, why on earth do you like going to the hospital on holidays!?

Just thought I'd let y'all know that, after a couple of weeks of an illness merry-go-round that wouldn't stop, everyone's doing well. Nothing new to report (which is almost always a good thing lol)

Unfortunately, y'all probably won't hear from me again for awhile unless something happens, because Kelly's suspended the prayer page on Facebook, due to some unfortunate comments were posted by overly opinionated people. So any updates I have will be through our mutual friend. I'm praying there won't be unless it's a (good) Finn First.

Love y'all!! And keep Finn and family in your prayers, as well as all the sweet little heart babies and kids at UVA.

Finn's page is back (has been since a couple of days after my last post actually).

Yesterday marked one full week of Finn being 100% off of his feeding tube!! He still gets meds through it so that, as Kelly says, each thing that goes into his mouth is positive, since he had oral aversion for such a long time. As long as he's getting the nutrients he needs and is gaining weight, etc. etc. this should be a permanent thing I think until his next surgery, whenever that might be.

In other news, he's walking pretty well; in one video Kelly posted, several of us thought it was Mason until we saw the face; that's how well Finn's doing :D And he looks so adorable in his itty bitty tennis shoes ^_^

Mason will be 3... soon? I can't remember exactly when his birthday is. Sometime in October I believe. Maybe the 17th? And Finn... Finn will be 2 on January 2!!!

Hope all y'all are doing well!!

Finn had a runny nose yesterday and trouble breathing which eventually led to the ER late last night:
As of 11:45pm last night, Finn was admitted to the ER. He has croup and strider. He has had three breathing treatments, one big steroid dose and will begin Prednisolone. Poor munchkin does not feel well and his airways are so narrow
