Do you think Christianity is rising or growing worldwide?

I think the problem with the young people is the utter insanity being said by Christian "leaders" today. The amount of hate being shown to different groups of people (LBGT, Muslim, immigrants) turns the young people off. They've grown up in a culture that is much less divided. Their friends are diverse, and they can't imagine any one of them being the devil incarnate. They see the insanity of certain people wanting to force schools to teach "creation science", the pro-life/pro-choice divide. They are more "live and let live" people, and don't feel the need to carry a bible with them to show their faith. They prefer action to words. Words are hollow. One of my nieces said, "Jesus said love one another, I don't see that by 'Christians' anymore". This is a young woman who gave up her own life to train as a counselor and now lives in one of the homes set up for women leaving the sex industry. My brothers and I were infused with a strong faith and have tried to pass it on. The kids are making their own way and defining their faith their own way...and it doesn't include church activity of any sort. I'd have to say most of their friends (and spouses) are also Christians who completely eschew traditional Christianity and prefer to express their faith in different ways. They don't try to convert anyone, they "evangelize" by their actions.
Im in my 20's and most people around me stop believing in God for one reason.

They dont want to follow rules.

Pre marital sex. Homosexuality, and a bunch of other stuff. To them the bible is a suggestion or worse, a worthless book.

No, it has a lot to do with these "rules" being considered outdated and having very little to do with a person's actions or ability to show the love of God to others. I could get into a huge discussion on the misinterpretation of Romans 1 but I won't. They believe, but they do not want to follow what they consider unloving, hateful and outdated rules.

I have met many christians who have stood on the word and still remain loving people.

Its difficult but jesus said it would be. He loved sinners but he never condoned it. He was hated by the world for what he preached.

I do agree some christians do give our faith a bad name, but there are also some christians who wont follow rules, they dont agree with.

Do you break rules you don't agree with...like speed limits?
I do and I usually have to pay for it in due time. I agree people should ask questions. I also believe we should evangelize through action, but I also agree we don't have to pick and choose which scriptures to follow to do it. that's what bible study is for.

I left the church for 1 year and I was bombarded with spiritual attacks by the world around me. I am now struggling with my faith. I regret leaving.

Many of the "churched" in recent decades were/are not Christians. The "seeker friendly" movement got a lot more butts in seats, but it did not make disciples of many, so the decline in church attendance is not as much a decline in Christianity, it's just that we've had so many unregnerate church attenders who've skewed the numbers.

Nothing "recent" about that. Roger Williams (who founded the first Baptist congregation in America) was complaining about that back in the 1600s. Pews filled with "unregenerate church attenders" is inevitable when Christians engineer a society in which it's socially advantageous to call oneself a Christian.

The way I see it, it is not really rising. Other religions and Atheism is taking more foothold in the minds of people, but at the same time, the Christians that do remain become more devoted. The lukewarm become more inclined to recognize what their hearts are really inclined to, whatever that is.

The 60's lead to a lot of unravelling of American culture, for all the positive changes it brought, it also brought a lot of negatives. The 60's is when the mainline churches started declining. I think because the churches started getting too deeply involved in the political divisions that were emerging.

My church is pretty stagnant, but we are still 150 large.
Do you think Christianity is still going strong.

Hello:clap:

Here I see Christianity growing through groups like the Chinese and Africans and declining in others. What I have observed among Chinese believers especially is their level of holiness, it is hugely greater than among Uk Christians. Some Christians have tried to boil holiness down into a set of rules, often about bizarre things, repelling many, showing that the full manifestation of holiness evades them.

Holiness is something beautiful and we need to see it more in Western Churches.

God Bless:clap:
