I agree with everything but would add that God doesnt want us to depend on feelings as our feelings are not reliable as our feelings react to what is going on around us instead of what Gods Word says. Jesus is also known as the bread of life meaning just as our daily physical food is what it takes to keep our physical bodies going so His Word is also what we need to keep our spiritual being alive. As we learn and grow we have more room to learn and grow but if He allowed things to stay the same we will not learn and grow.
Whatfor, I am going through about the same thing but I know my mistake, I allowed things in this world to draw me away from my Lord, not completely, but I will get back and He said He would redeem the time for me.

Well I was just tooling around on the net when I came across this site where this teacher tries to give Christian better understanding of verses in the Bible by using his knowledge of Hebrew. I read a couple of articles when the third article was titled
BEYOND THE DALETH – WORM – תולע
I thought, what on earth is this ?? Well as I read he was talking about how for a while he went through a spell where almost all of his prayers were getting answered then all of a sudden no matter what he prayed it seemed none were being answered. He said he felt abandoned by God. While this is not exactly what you were talking about I thought maybe his explanation of some things might help you as it did me, here is the link.
