I was watching when this happened live today. Apparently it made history as it has never happened before.

Back in March it was observed that there is a bunch of people in the RNC trying to take over the rules committee. I think all this at the convention has something to do with that. Especially when one guy with the RNC said the people don't choose the candidate they do. That kind of makes you wonder what all those votes for the delegates were about doesn't it? Just smoke and mirrors so we think we're part of the process when we're not or what?

We choose the nominee, not the voters: Senior GOP official
Wait what made history? What has never happened before?

Not according to the Utah Senator that was hoping to get the roll call vote approved. If that's true that's something else. And all due to Trump's candidacy apparently.

Did you watch the video? The chair of the RNC left the stage and refused to take the roll call vote that was asked for. The Utah Senator I was talking about is in that video explaining how he's never seen this happen before.

Your entire argument and objection turns out to be nothing more than "Your exercise of your rights dosen't generate the result that I have decided it should generate, so I'm going to use an agency of force to curtail your rights so that i can get the result I want."

Not on my watch you don't.

Now do you have any comments on the OP or are you here to merely distract?

That's fair. That segregation is a blot on our history is my opinion.

Sure. Not everyone thinks it was a "failure" of the free market. There's enough of them we even have convenient labels for people who think that minorities getting shafted by the free market needs no "justification".

Somehow the narrative is that those who get shafted hate freedom and those who do the shafting love it. If, indeed, a "free market" leads to segregation and impenetrable class barriers, then a "free market" is diametrically opposed to a "free society." That should be enough reason to fear the free market.

You know something? There's nothing new there, regardless of party or socio/economic views. NOBODY likes to give up power. It is that basic. Some adapt to reality better than others. That is also true of all persons regardless of ideology.

i had high hopes for Ron Paul. Was he going to get the nomination in 2008 or 2012? No way. However he did accomplish much of what he talked about. Others will get the credit, but as Reagan once observed, it is the result that matters, not who gets credit for it.

He did expose the "powers that be" in the Republican Establishment, so that Trump...who is NOT near as nice as Ron Paul...could counter their efforts.

But more to my point, Ron Paul vs. the Republican establishment played out in 1940 when the Repukelicans nominated a former Democratic lawyer named Wendell Willkie who had never held political office, and as far as anyone could determine stood for...absolutely nothing.

My recommendation is that you take this verse to heart: What is it that hath bene? that that shalbe: and what is it that hath bene done? that which shalbe done: and there is no newe thing vnder the sunne. Ecc 1:9, 1599 Geneva Bible.

Because we see it happening all the time. There is no new thing under the sun (as the KJV renders it).

So glad you qualified that with your last clause.

However, it is hardly unique to any "majority race", and exists even amongst the minority communities.

My point is that they have the right to discriminate for any reason they want or no reason at all.

What they do NOT have is what they should have: Namely the freedom to make those choices where there is no government funding involved.

So i don't really care if somebody doesn't want to provide a product of service to me. It is his or her business. Besides there is somebody who will provide said product or service, because my money has only one colour for everyone, and spends just as well no matter who it came from. In the history of our nation more than a few black entrepreneurs became wealthy by providing those services or products to their community...then the government stepped in and closed them down Walter Williams documents quite a bit of the shenanigans involved in his book The State Against Blacks

Now do you have any comments to make concerning the subject of the OP, or are you still trying to derail the thread?

Lincoln didn't have any interest in suspending the election of 1868, did he?

Since he'd been dead for three years, I'd suspect he did not.

That alone is most interesting....
Don't worry, it isn't going to happen. i've gone over and over this ground in this thread. However, look at Barack Obama. The man did not have a single gray hair in 2008. While he didn't age as fast as President Carter did in just one term, now look at him. i honestly think he's looking forward to retirement. Still LOVE the footie socks.

One could always repeal the 22nd Amendment, but the problem with that is that the sitting President would not benefit from the change.

Besides that from what i've seen and listened to, i think Obama has really had enough of the Oval Office. He's ready and maybe eager to retire.

I can see you didn't read my earlier post where I talked about the problems with this reasoning. Here you go.

Now do you have any comments to make concerning the subject of the OP, or are you still trying to derail the thread?

You started this. Haha! If you respond, you're the one keeping it going.

As to "derailing" have you actually read the OP?

Actually, i did read it, and did reply to it and did read the OP and subsequent posts made by the OP. You even responded to my reply. Nice try though.

i shot down the conspiracy theory crap posted by the OP. Barack Obama is leaving the Presidency at 1200 hrs on 20 January 2017 no matter what he attempts to do about it. That was my position then, and it is my position now. i have provided evidence for that position, although some may have disputes about the nature of that evidence. i even backed off when i started getting into matters that were off topic.

You on the other hand, continue to drag irrelevant matters into it.

My libertarianism is not an issue. You continue to try and make it one. That i respond to you is neither here nor there. i keep trying to drag you back to point.

Do you have a response to the OP as i've asked at least four times to those like yourself trying to distract.

So do you have a response to the OP?
