So when a black man goes hunting for housing and is not shown the best houses on offer because of his race, then goes to a bank and is not offered a mortgage because of his race, and then is stopped by a cop who thought he looked "suspicious" because of the color of his skin, none of this points to victimization? Maybe I don't understand your argument, but racism isn't something that only affects you if you let it. Racism affects you whether you want it to or not.

Race is a social construct. That doesn't make it not a thing, though. Just because it's not genetic doesn't make it not real. The fact is that if your skin is black, you're extremely likely to face racial discrimination in this country.

But by rejecting the experience of all those who claim to have experienced racism, you already have marginalized them - you've marginalized them even further than the actual racists had previously done.

Great response. I will say that when someone disregards or even scoffs at a story of experiencing racism and discrimination that it does add insult to injury.

Click through to the link and you will in fact see that these banks settled on the claim that they were in fact discriminating based on skin color. Mortgages very much were offered on the basis of race.

Really? Howso?

"these banks"...not all banks

Because there are racists who don't like me [as a person] simply because I have white skin.

Can you explain how this affects you in your day-to-day life? I believe that there are some people who just don't like white people, particularly African-Americans who have generalized their racist treatment at the hands of some to "all white people are out to get me". But how does this affect you? What concrete effects does this have on your life?

Even IF it doesn't effect his life, it's still morally wrong, nor should it be sweep underneath the carpet, and pass of as "no big deal".

No, I understand it's bad, really. I'd hate that too, and it is wrong, both logically and morally. But it's really important to keep things in context. If the racism towards me is "some person who really can't have any significant effect on my life thinks I'm a jerk because I'm white" and the racism directed toward someone else is "cannot get a loan, will not be shown houses in many neighborhoods, is less likely to be hired than a felon, can't get help from his university professor, has to constantly worry about being outright murdered by the police", there's really not a reasonable comparison here. That's why I ask the question. I don't mean to diminish anyone's experience, and I'm sorry if it comes off that way, but there's a fundamental difference between "this person doesn't like white people very much but can't do much about it" and "there is systemic racism against white people".

This is exactly it.

Hate is hate, and it's wrong. But I can avoid the hate if I want to. Some people can't.

Black Lives Matter. Blue Lives Matter. And in light of what we've all been through lately, we're all black and blue.

It would be nice if people thought like so!
But the reality is, they don't!
Why divide people by color....its all about dividing to conquer. While all lives should matter...and people should stand for humanity they just don't until it hits their communities.

No so, my sister.

Although i know where you may be coming from....it's not so far-fetched that the drama that is all over the news and gets even more dramatic as we speak, is possibly contrived, and seeded/planted by ol' Soros himself, as he stands back and watches the artificially built division that feeds off of, and is hungry for any semblance of tragedies to feed off of further.

THIS is real.

Right here.

The States have used color to divide the country through legislation, execution and municipality since it's inception. It is based on several divisive facts that color, or lack there of, grants you things others don't deserve. You can't one day just say, "let's be united," when the fabric of the country has thired on division!

For example, peoplet's may want "America Great Again" because the melting pot benefits have been proportioned out to more and more groups. Globalization no longer puts one crown jewel at the top. Affirmative action is becoming less important since minorities have had access to more resources, and are getting college and ivy league offers in droves. Even in sports, by merit of their athleticism more minorities are becoming champions and Olympian because, God forbid, they get a sliver of the resources others get to pursue their interests (sports are not cheap.)

"I don't see color..." is a slap in the face. Unless you are blind or a dog, you see color. Ignoring it won't make it go away.
