A person's twenties are the time where most of us try to determine what it is we are going to do with the rest of our lives. What are all of you planning on doing for the next few decades of your existence? What are you doing to prepare yourself for that type of work? Feel free to share aspirations, careers that you tried but realized weren't for you, success stories, struggles or any other personal tales you might like to share.

Personally, I just recently finished my master's degree in biological anthropology. I'm starting a PhD program in August for medical anthropology. I'd be happy with either a career in public health research at places such as the CDC, NIH, or WHO. Alternatively, I enjoy teaching at the college level along with research, so I will also be seeking jobs as a university professor after I graduate.

I hope that you get the opportunity to flourish as your career evolves. It's good that you'd be pleased with a variety of different outcomes. There's excitement in uncertainty.

As for me, hopefully I'ld eventually get enough experience to be a project/program manager for IT, construction, or process-related initiatives. I'm also thinking about going for immigration law. It's different, but potentially meaningful.

Good luck to both of you. I have so much confidence you'll get the jobs you're pursuing. I'm going to be a musician. That's where I'm blessed, so I have faith in God I could make $ doing it. I'm going to make reggae myself and hip hop trap beats for others. Follow me on twitter . www.twitter.com/rasnosfromaz

A great set of questions! - I think at this stage in life (roaring 20s as they call it on CF, haha) it is important to be open to whatever God brings our way or whatever path he sets us on. When I graduated college in 2011, the economy was still recovering from the Recession in 2008. I went to school for writing, and coming out of college, nobody was hiring writers in my area of Pennsylvania. So I moved to Boston and finally got hired as an editor in 2013.

From early on God has given me this great desire to be around words. I feel very blessed to be able to use my degree to make a living. However, from a lot of books I've read by people in their 50s and 60s, it also seems like our stage of life (the 20s) is where a lot of adults forge their "false" ego. Visit Boston and the first question any working professional will ask you is "what do you do?" It's easy to feel judged if you don't do something amazing/important. All in all, I think it is important to work, to support yourself and your family, and to follow the path God has set you on while staying humble, because one day we won't be roaring 20-year-olds.

I hope that doesn't sound too downtrodden or like what we do for work doesn't matter. I think it's more of a work/life/faith balance.

I wish you all the luck Paloma_91 in your PhD program. A career in public health research is a very noble pursuit.

I am an aspiring filmmaker and want to end up in the media industry as a producer or director of film or television. But currently, I work two jobs at local colleges and do freelance media work whenever it comes.
I found alot of positions for taking calls out/in online, you could do from home. A filmmaker could be a very good career, those that have done good work in filmmaking, consider how much work they put in previously. Putting in work everyday with no pride could let you end up in a good filmmaking position.

I am currently a consultant that goes from site to site training on the software we implement.

I feel really called to training/teaching. Ideally someday I'll find a position that is more training intensive and has less down time. I really enjoy mentoring people also.

I went for a degree in Business Management (2006-2010), then pursued a Master's (2011-2013). Now studying Philosophy since 2014, then planning to study Theology in 2017.

I love to be in classroom environments and meet new people along the way. It's interesting how our experiences in life and in our workplaces enriches our discussions of any topic.

I have Autism and due to that I can't work. I was tested and they said I was not employable. My parents are supporting me, because I still live with them. When they die I am going to go and move into a home with others just like me and the government is going to give me my SSI.
