Only with your eyes shall you look,

Psalms 91:He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High
Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
2 I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress;
My God, in Him I will trust.”
3 Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler[a]
And from the perilous pestilence.

5 You shall not be afraid of the terror by night,
Nor of the arrow that flies by day,
6 Nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness,
Nor of the destruction that lays waste at noonday.
7 A thousand may fall at your side,
And ten thousand at your right hand;
But it shall not come near you.
8 Only with your eyes shall you look,
And see the reward of the wicked.
9 Because you have made the Lord, who is my refuge,
Even the Most High, your dwelling place,
10 No evil shall befall you,
Nor shall any plague come near your dwelling;
11 For He shall give His angels charge over you,
To keep you in all your ways.
12 In their hands they shall bear you up,
Lest you dash your foot against a stone.
13 You shall tread upon the lion and the cobra,
The young lion and the serpent you shall trample underfoot.
14 “Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore I will deliver him;
I will set him on high, because he has known My name.
15 He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him;
I will be with him in trouble;
I will deliver him and honor him.
16 With long life I will satisfy him,
And show him My salvation.”

Revelation 18 After these things I saw another angel coming down from heaven, having great authority, and the earth was illuminated with his glory. 2 And he cried mightily[a] with a loud voice, saying, “Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and has become a dwelling place of demons, a prison for every foul spirit, and a cage for every unclean and hated bird! 3 For all the nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth have become rich through the abundance of her luxury.”

4 And I heard another voice from heaven saying, “Come out of her, my people, lest you share in her sins, and lest you receive of her plagues. 5 For her sins have reached to heaven, and God has remembered her iniquities.

Revelation 16:8 Then the fourth angel poured out his bowl on the sun, and power was given to him to scorch men with fire. 9 And men were scorched with great heat, and they blasphemed the name of God who has power over these plagues; and they did not repent and give Him glory.

Woe to the inhabitants of the earth and the sea! For the devil has come down to you, having great wrath, because he knows that he has a short time.”

Mathew 19:28 So Jesus said to them, “Assuredly I say to you, that in the regeneration, when the Son of Man sits on the throne of His glory, you who have followed Me will also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel. 29 And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife[k] or children or lands, for My name’s sake, shall receive a hundredfold, and inherit eternal life. 30 But many who are first will be last, and the last first.

They follow the lamb wherever he goes. (He is in heaven, we are dead and hidden there with him) His sheep know his voice and follow it.

They are not defiled with woman (the harlot of babylon)

Mathew 19:28 So Jesus said to them, “Assuredly I say to you, that in the regeneration, when the Son of Man sits on the throne of His glory, you who have followed Me will also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel

Revelation 14:14 Then I looked, and behold, a Lamb standing on Mount Zion, and with Him one hundred and forty-four thousand, having His Father’s name written on their foreheads. 2 And I heard a voice from heaven, like the voice of many waters, and like the voice of loud thunder. And I heard the sound of harpists playing their harps. 3 They sang as it were a new song before the throne, before the four living creatures, and the elders; and no one could learn that song except the hundred and forty-four thousand who were redeemed from the earth. 4 These are the ones who were not defiled with women, for they are virgins. These are the ones who follow the Lamb wherever He goes. These were redeemed from among men, being firstfruits to God and to the Lamb. 5 And in their mouth was found no deceit, for they are without fault before the throne of God.

6 Then I saw another angel flying in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach to those who dwell on the earth—to every nation, tribe, tongue, and people— 7 saying with a loud voice, “Fear God and give glory to Him, for the hour of His judgment has come; and worship Him who made heaven and earth, the sea and springs of water.”

8 And another angel followed, saying, “Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she has made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication.”

Do you all write bible verses all over your walls?

I could but that's what CF is for. Like a Mathematician writes his equations, so do we equate the Law of God.

Psalm 1 But his delight is in the law of the Lord,
And in His law he meditates day and night.
3 He shall be like a tree
Planted by the rivers of water,
That brings forth its fruit in its season,
Whose leaf also shall not wither;
And whatever he does shall prosper.

I have to agree that the physical Israel doesn't matter. We must interpret scripture as a whole; taking isolated sections from the OT without looking through the lens of Jesus is fruitless. Above all, let's remember 2 Cor 1:20 - All God's promises find their YES in Christ.

He is the fulfilment of the OT. Through His blood the Old Covenant is gone; the New Covenant is here. Let's not live in the past!
God has established an everlasting Covenant with Israel. They are his wife. We are the Bride of Christ. Israel is the friend of the Bridegroom. They are the natural branches grafted back into their own tree.

"I will establish my covenant as an everlasting covenant between me and you and your descendants after you for the generations to come, to be your God and the God of your descendants after you." Gen 17:7

Luke 1:55
to Abraham and his descendants forever, just as he promised our ancestors."

We are exhorted to love all men, and to live at peace with all men, and to be holy. Holiness is about being separated from the world, and not joining with Israel or any other nation. There is neither Jew or Greek, and we are all one in Christ. Gods kingdom is not of this world.

When a person traveled to Jerusalem in ancient Israel, no matter where they came from, the Bible would say they went,
"up to Jerusalem." Moriah isn't the highest mountain in Israel (Mt. of Olives, for example, is higher, and I'm sure several others), but it's glorified because that was the city where God chose to dwell.

Psalms 68:16
16 Why do you fume with envy, you mountains of many peaks?
This is the mountain which God desires to dwell in;
Yes, the Lord will dwell in it forever.

I have never been to the Holy Land myself, but reading the scriptures shows many mountains and valleys, and things happening there. Mt. Hermon, according to some commentators, is the mountain where Jesus was transfigured. Here is that incident.
Matt.
17 And after six days Jesus taketh Peter, James, and John his brother, and bringeth them up into an high mountain apart,

2 And was transfigured before them: and his face did shine as the sun, and his raiment was white as the light.

3 And, behold, there appeared unto them Moses and Elias talking with him.

4 Then answered Peter, and said unto Jesus, Lord, it is good for us to be here: if thou wilt, let us make here three tabernacles; one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias.

5 While he yet spake, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them: and behold a voice out of the cloud, which said, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him.

6 And when the disciples heard it, they fell on their face, and were sore afraid.

7 And Jesus came and touched them, and said, Arise, and be not afraid.

8 And when they had lifted up their eyes, they saw no man, save Jesus only.

I think we sell our Father short to think that He is not interested any longer in the land He created with His own purpose in mind.

Isa. 55:
8 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord.

9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.

Isa. 55:
8 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord.

9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.

I think its quite the opposite actually. That scripture you posted actually supports that Gods land is far above our thoughts. Its more than we can see with natural eyes.

I've been to Israel before. If you have the opportunity to take a Biblical tour, I highly recommend it. I went with my pastor, Lon Solomon (a Jewish believer in Jesus), and I want to go back again with him, hopefully. He leads tours in Israel every year at least once (https://www.mcleanbible.org/visit-holy-land-pastor-lon), and to other places. He's been doing this for more than twenty years.

We don't know for sure which mountain Jesus transfigured on since the Bible doesn't say, but when I was there my pastor said many think it was probably Mt. Tabor in the tribe of Issachar.

Here are a few pictures of Mt. Tabor. There's a church on the summit originally built by Queen Helena, the mother of Constantine, to commemorate the Transfiguration. I think Helena's church from the 3rd century was destroyed and rebuilt, actually.

Israel is a beautiful country. Lots of mountains and valleys. Some parts are desolate wilderness, and there is fertile land and even forests. There's a lot of variety.

Do you believe Jesus was literally God and literally man, that He literally died, that He literally was buried, that He literally rose on the third day?

The Creator and Savior Jesus Christ deals in physical and spiritual reality. If He didn't need to physically (literally) shed His blood to save us from the penalty of our sins (Leviticus 17:11, Hebrews 9:22, John 1:29, Matthew 26:39, Matthew 26:43), He wouldn't have died.

There is really very little figurative language in the Bible and it's almost always obvious when it is. Song of Solomon is figurative. Zechariah 14 is not.

Much of what is said by the prophets in the OT is figurative.

Well the bible scholars and commentators of today are well trained Christian and godly men.

They are useful but not infallible. If they were infallible we wouldn't have Catholic, Lutheran, Eastern Orthodox, Seventh day Adventists, Anglican, Messianic Judaism, Baptists, Methodists...and all their many sub divisions.

Beautiful Pics! Thanks for sharing! Yes, we have no idea what mountain the transfiguration happened. Some speculate one, some speculate another. What I find interesting about the mountains is most references to them involved worship of some sort. And our Father calls Jerusalem His Holy Mountain. I am sure it was His Holy Mountain from the beginning. But there is a prophecy about the mountains that we have not discussed that fits an earthquake happening in the future.

Isa 40:
4 Every valley shall be exalted, and every mountain and hill shall be made low: and the crooked shall be made straight, and the rough places plain:

5 And the glory of the Lord shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together: for the mouth of the Lord hath spoken it.

In the mouth of two witnesses...

Luke 3:
5 Every valley shall be filled, and every mountain and hill shall be brought low; and the crooked shall be made straight, and the rough ways shall be made smooth;

6 And all flesh shall see the salvation of God.
5 Every valley shall be filled, and every mountain and hill shall be brought low; and the crooked shall be made straight, and the rough ways shall be made smooth;

6 And all flesh shall see the salvation of God.

4 Every valley shall be exalted, and every mountain and hill shall be made low: and the crooked shall be made straight, and the rough places plain:

5 And the glory of the Lord shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together: for the mouth of the Lord hath spoken it.

How can you be confident of your assertion that, "much of prophecy is figurative and not to be taken literally?"

What is the point of a prophecy if it doesn't communicate to the hearer?

Revelation 1:1a
The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave Him to show His servants—things which must shortly take place.

Take for instance the 22 Psalm. Portions of it were fulfilled by Jesus at the cross. Were all parts of the Psalm fulfilled literally?

That scripture is referring to spiritualism, not the land itself..

I certainly consider it, but that's still no guarantee that they are right. There will be a great deception in the last days. We have had 2000 years of those last days now, so i think i'll be cautious.
